"At most a 4 star hotel"
This is definitely not a boutique hotel, it looks old and feels decadent. The air conditioning was only on heating and we couldn’t cool the room, so we opened the window on the front second floor, plenty of noise from the street and we had no sleep, just awful! Very generously I would give it 4 stars but frankly, it deserves less. Don’t be tempted by the last minute deals on Booking. Com, the prices are indeed tempting for a boutique hotel, you will discover why sadly when it’s too late.
"Book Marrol’s Hotel if Bratislava on your itinerary"
Bratislava is a delightful destination and Marrol’s Hotel helps to cast the spell. Marrol’s displays an elegance disappearing in many European hotels. Excellent location near old city, superb accommodations and amenities. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast varied and high quality. Flat rate for cabs to train station is convenient and fair. An early evening visit to the summer terrace was a pleasant interlude. If Slovakia is on your itinerary, be sure to book Marrol’s.
"A good-quality hotel not far from the old town"
We stayed with my wife at this hotel in September for two nights. The hotel is located on a quiet street near the old part of the city (10 minutes walk). There is an underground two-level parking, but the entrance is narrow and uncomfortable for large cars. Spacious room, courteous and friendly staff, varied breakfast. In general, there is nothing to complain about. A good variant of accommodation for acquaintance with an old city, I recommend
"One of our favorite hotels - elegant and charming"
This is a wonderful hotel just on the edge of the historic city center (and dangerously, it's around the corner from La Donuteria, an excellent doughnut shop). Within a few minutes, you can walk to many of the highlights, even if it's slightly off the main drag. The hotel is lovely, with great service and a lot of old world charm, but it still feels fresh. We wound up booking the garden apartment, and bringing a pre-schooler along, it was quite a bit of space exclusive to us, and so useful having room for her to let off steam. We ate our first dinner at the hotel restaurant, Houdini's, and it's one of the best hotel restaurant meals we've eaten. The stay wasn't perfect. We tried using the laptop that happened to be included in the room, and it led to the room blowing a fuse (easily fixed). The design for the garden apartment is odd, as there's no handle on the door on the outside to open or close the door. Lastly, they could have handled checkout better. As we were running a bit late getting out, they called us twice within short order even though we didn't leave more than 30 minutes past the allotted checkout time; I've never encountered any hotel so frantic about this (even if, yes, I should have managed my time better packing). All in all though, the hiccups could have detracted from a lesser hotel, but this hotel was so good that they deserve a bit of slack. I would easily return and will recommend it to anyone I know going to Slovakia.
"Luxurious, well located"
This was a nice surprise in terms of central location and nice amenities. Breakfast was excellent and staff helpful. Bathroom was spacious and dinner at the restaurant was we'll prepared, nicely presented and very relaxing
