We went there with a 7 days pack in a sala pool villa, massage, breakfast, airport return trip, 1 lunch and dinner included. All of the resort is exceptionally beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are amazing, the best we have ever seen in a resort. The view of the pool and the sea from the restaurant is amazing also. The staff is very good, caring a lot the customers. We were there with a 2 years old baby, and they were absolutely perfectly ready for that (games, toys, smilling...) The location is a little bit far from the city, however Phuket is about visiting all the island so wherever the resort would be, using transportation is mandatory if you plan to visit the island. The pool villa was amazing (to find one thing to improve, it would have been even better with a little more space to store clothes but that was not a big issue). Exceptional resort, staff with great food.
"Private paradise with many friendly smiles"
The Sala was a treat of a resort after the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong for fives days. This modernist resort is somewhat secluded on an amazing desolate beach with stunning sunsets. The first thing that hit me was how the resort unfolds as you move through it; from the autocade, lobby, public spaces, and lanes to your villa. The resort is an incredibly private, modernist and beyond a comfortable retreat. If you looking for privacy and luxury then this place hits the spot. The Pool Villa with Sala worked very well for this party of two. The main room, the sala, the pool, and gardens are all well designed, functional and comfortable – Oh, the bed and pillow menu! I loved how private the whole villa was and the lanes that lead you to your enclave. The main public spaces; pools, restaurants, and bars are all sublime with the same attention to detail that the villa had. What I loved was cushions, double stuffed down cushions on every daybed, chair, you name it. Everything was about comfort! We ate both the bar and restaurant for the meals and drinks were pretty top notch, yes somewhat expensive. Although, there is a fun group of small restaurants a close 3 min walk away which added some delicious variety to our stay. During our five days at the Sala, I would have to say the clientele is cool, friendly and eclectic resulting in an interesting mix of people from all over the world hanging out. Don’t miss the breakfast – just amazing healthy and delicious goodies! The best, and I mean the best part was the impeccable service of the staff. Always, helpful and friendly, with nothing ever being a problem. Clearly, customer service was a top priority for the staff and they hit a 10 out of 10. After moving to a new resort further south, I really noticed the difference in how great and genuine the Sala staff really is! Congrats to them and the management team! Would I stay here again, yes! It’s the perfect place for large groups of friends or family to hang out in there own villa’s and connects at the pool or restaurant. There are rooms and villas for all levels of the budget, which I think, is great. This one will be on the list for the next family reunion for sure.
If you fancy total relaxation and need to get away Sala is 100% the correct place to choose in Phuket. It is quite far from the center however once you get there you don't want to leave. We stayed for 2 nights and wish we booked for longer. Dinner was amazing but be careful they charge a fortune for water! Breakfast was great and the staff were superb. The spa was clean and architecture was divine!! Highly recommend the couples Sala Massage.
I really wanted to love this place. A private pool villa' Outdoor shower' 24 hour room service' Sign me up! We went here for the second part of our honeymoon and stayed 15 nights. We spent some big bucks here. The room was gorgeous, outdoor day bed, that cool pool, and so private. The one downside that I will not overlook again was your toilet being outdoors. There's these giant beetles that fly around, mosquitos. It was quite uncomfortable to use the bathroom and made me feel like I was "roughing it" instead of being on my honeymoon. The food was average, there were a few things that were better but for the most part I never ordered a meal and wanted to have it again. Also the "pour" of their drinks is insanely disappointing. They charge you somewhere between $9-13 for 1 drink and its so filled with ice that you may have 2 actual sips in your hands. They advertise big time for their happy hour, like getting a pitcher of mojitos. My husband and I got it one day and it was legitimately 2 drinks when poured out! Also I feel it would be a disservice to not explain our struggle with communication here. If english is your first language do NOT go here! It was pretty bad. My husband ordered the same breakfast 3 times and on the 3rd try they finally got his order right. The misunderstandings between us and these very kind Thai employees were brutal. Sometimes someone would approach us to help us with something or take an order and as soon as we spoke english they would go in the other direction. Very little ability for side talk with the employees which to me was very disappointing and quite isolating for a foreigner. The wonderful woman who actually showed us to our room didn't do a good job of explaining some things in our room. She called the milk, juice and she actually told us that the bottle of wine in the room was complimentary. Thinking that was the truth we drank it almost every night and then check out time we find out each bottle of wine is 1,200 baht. I mentioned it to the woman that we were checking out with. That I was disappointed and that some guests may even be upset. Nothing was done about it, it fell on deaf ears, and we had to eat that big cost. Had I known I was paying for it I would've asked for something better, seriously it wasn't even that good. This place is trying so hard to be as I call it "ritz carlton" status but it falls frighteningly short when it comes to service, food, and staff being able to communicate accordingly with their guests. The only time I didn't feel as if I was being robbed was with our room cost and the spa treatments. The spa treatments were great and they did run specials that made it much more attractive. I had Ing who was kind, accommodating, and very talented as a massage therapist. The beach is also gorgeous. It's much quieter then Patong and not over developed. Again I wish so badly that I could've given a better review. Unfortunately after 15 days I was tired of feeling so isolated (for never being understood as an english speaker) and being constantly ripped off. If the staff could learn better english and not be so afraid to be clear and communicate with their guest I think they would do better. It's the little things sometimes, and it would've been nice to have gotten to know the staff better for all the time I stayed there.
"Great friendly service, great room, bit high prices"
Stayed in the SALA pool villa which looked just as nice as in the pictures I've seen. The service of the hotel is very accessible and friendly by that. The resort itself has a beautiful design, its location is also catered towards relaxation. With having said that ; the only downsides were that the location in Mai Khao is pretty far from everything else in Phuket, so your best bet here is to get a cab from either the local cab service or the hotel itself which will usually take you somewhere and wait for you for 3 hours approx. This can be costly when you want to do the local sightseeing. The resort itself also offers different daytrips from the hotel, which take you to the things that you must have seen, also for a price. The resort restaurant offers many options from around the world, not just Thai, but expect to pay up here as if you were in any other western restaurant. Personal downside for me was that our flight was scheduled for 20:00 pm and we got the notice that our checkout time in the resort was arranged for 12:00 pm for some reason, so we basically had to either pay a full day price to not get to sit in the lobby for hours. Wasn't too happy with this.
