"As good as it gets"
We have stayed at 7 Maldives hotels over the last 20 years. Its hard to find fault with any but this exceeded expectations. We did not expect to book this hotel as we assumed it was well out of our price range but our agent at Value Added Travel (Louis, hes brilliant) had an amazing deal with a night in Colombo on the way out. Its almost the best package we ever booked. We have stayed at so many ordanairy 5 star hotels but this is in a different league. I wish we could give it 10 stars. They deserve it. Treated like family from first minute to last. We did not want to leave
We came here with high expectations and we weren't disappointed at all. The resort is conveniently located very close to the Gan Inlt Airport, a 5 min complimentary speed boat transfer will get you to this paradise resort with a nine hole golf course. Our four night's all inclusive stay was all we could have asked for, the welcome, the room, the facilities and the food. The highlight was the resort staff, specially the restaurant managers and chefs who went out of their way to make sure we were throughly pampered. Some names worth mentioning: •Chef Amar Singh @ Javuu, didnt make us miss home food at breakfast & lunch. The pesto pasta is great here •Chef Latif @ Dr Ali, excellent Mediterranean Dinner •Chef Daniel Boller & Chef Marek @ Fashala, the best Artichoke Soup (not to be missed at all) ever had and the most authentic Italian, from the Risotto to the Ravioli n the best Gnocchi ever •Chaminda @ Pool Bar, for the best Pinacolada's •Ibrahim, the F&B Manager / Anvar, the Bar Manager / Shannon, the Manager @ Dr Ali, the super friendly, warm and will do anything to make you comfortable, great assets to have. We also experienced the pop up Buddha Bar event at various locations of the property with Dj Mario Chaviaras who was simply amazing in setting the mood and making the afternoons & evenings even more happening. Our Water Villa was a very comfortable choice, the only drawback being, it lacks complete privacy. Each villa is provided with its own set of bicycle which is quite convenient and if you need a buggy pickup, the team are very prompt in sending you one. The only downside was the villa butler service, which i think can be improved. When you are told that there is a butler then you expect him or her to atleast find out once a day of your needs, be it frm making your restaurant reservations or making any special arrangements. Assad, the butler was good but could have been better, we did not have any details of our departure timing of the buggy pick up or the transfer to the airport. We were to have these details in the room the previous nite and to our surprise we couldnt find any. Also, the fruits were to be replenished on daily basis, which unfortunately did not happen. Lastly, the wifi is very inconsistent and poor throughout the resort, so be prepared for it. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to come back again. The resort is great for couples as well as families travelling with kids.
"Simply Beautiful from start to Finish"
We stayed at the resort in July and completely fell in love with the resort. We got a superb deal from Value Added Travel. Sol really knew his stuff and ensured that our trip went smoothly. From the time we got there we were treated like royalty and was really made to feel really special. We had a Water villa and this was most probably one of the best rooms we have stayed in. The Water villas were huge and the we had steps from our terrace, that went straight in to the ocean. Snorkelling is a must here. The Food in all the restaurants was excellent to be honest, although Dr. Ali's was the stand out for us. All the staff we great and i would recommend any one to stay at this resort. I would come back in a heart beat.
"Words cannot describe"
Just finished 9 nights on this magical island in a water villa. Superlatives fail to accurately describe how epic this place is - from waking up to step off into the crystal blue warm waters swimming with rays and parrot fish....to cycling around the serenely green and lush island on your own complimentary beach bike (I’m getting me one of these back home)....to sampling some of the greatest variety of food and wine I’ve ever experienced in such a resort holiday. This is total luxury and the greatest resort I personally have ever stayed in. A special shout out to chefs Michael and Daniel who made our last evening an Indian gastronomic delight. It isn’t cheap but I don’t think the food and wine was overly expensive either given you are in the middle of an ocean and don’t forget - paradise.
Incredible place. We tremendously enjoyed our vacations. The villa (Treehouse) was just amazing. The private swimming pool was warm and clean and thoroughly enjoyable. The view on the ocean (careful, you can't swim on that side of the island) was breathtaking. A/C and internet worked perfectly. The island is large and beautiful. A lot of nature, trees, flowers and animals (bats, frogs, crabs, ...). The hotel was trails that you can follow from one side of the island to the other and we had fun exploring. We also regularly used the electric car service to go from one point to the other and that was a perfect alternative. The hotel also offers bikes. All in all, this gives guests a large choice of options to go across the island. The food is good and it's fun to try the different restaurants. We ate well and quickly each time. They have a special menu for kids, which is also very good. We had lovely cocktails every evening, while admiring the sunset. Thanks to the cocktail team, always so nice with us. The "happy hour" is a bargain. It was somewhat strange that we were so few to enjoy that magical time. Well: more pleasure for us ! The beach is nice and the snorkeling from one of the jetties. The reef is great, although it's probably suffering from the heat. Indeed, the (very clean) water was 30 to 31° Celsius and near the entry point probably around 33°C. This means some alga, including alga growing on the corrals. But they are plenty of fishes. The hotel even has a turtle point nearby and a snorkeling excursion to reach it. We saw several large turtles very close. We also did the dolphin boat trip and saw dozens and dozens of dolphins, including many swimming right next to the boat. Not to be missed. Diving was amazing and the diving team just superb. Very confortable, friendly and safe. We saw sharks (black and white tips), including briefly a nurse shark; we saw a manta, octopus, morays. The corrals were also a delight. I did one spa treatment and found is very good. The entire staff is friendly, efficient, helpful and smiling. Bravo to the directors ! Congratulations also on the many environmental efforts. I hope their plans to "plant" corrals truly can work out in the long run. We enjoyed reading the labels regarding the flora and the fauna that were to be found throughout the island. All in all, it was one of our best vacations. It is costly, but definitely worth it. In that respect, we appreciated that the water was offered for free, that the kid menu was very reasonably priced, that the cocktails were 50% off during the happy hour and that many options on the various menus were priced very attractively (one of my best pad thai ever enjoyed in the room service while contemplating the sea). The only regret: no sharks to be seen from the sea shore. One advice: We could have benefitted from more information about the activities taking place on the island. We had to inquire at the respective locations (e.g., eco-center, health club). It would have been helpful to post at the breakfast a list of available activities day-by-day.
