The Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort is located at the splendid corniche in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Along with being a ‘green city', thanks to its many tree-lined avenues and parks, Abu Dhabi is also becoming a vibrant and bustling city and is on the verge of transforming itself into a truly global city - planned to be a centre for the fine arts.
Great 5 star resort. Pools are quite small and I can imagine during peak periods it must be really busy. We were mainly on the private beach. I had a massage which was lovely and they tend to offers so this is worth checking out. Stayed on a half board basis. Great choice out of 4 restaurants buffet, Italian, Spanish and Mexican. Food was great in these restaurants. Nice to have complimentary water throughout our stay. Hotel is quite near to shopping malls etc but you do need to get a taxi and these are readily available and very reasonable priced. Would recommend for a short break.
"Older hotel needs upgrading - poor beach "
You can really see potential with this hotel. It’s a nice little resort, staff are friendly but it just all looks a little dated and not quite as pristine and manicured as it’s surrounding counterparts. You also can’t help but to feel you are at the complete wrong end of town! Absolutely nothing within walking distance. On a positive; The pool is a lovely temperature, the beds are comfy, the grounds are well kept and plenty of choice of eateries. The staff are all willing and friendly. On a negative; Decor needs some attention and a general deep clean up. The beach area is more like Builders grit and needs a good load of sand shipping in, the metal orange fencing panels around the beach area need swapping for something a little more aesthetically pleasing and the cabanas on the beach area need to be offering massages rather than used as a dumping ground. We have booked half board and are made to feel like second rate citizens when it comes to dining which is a real shame. We have therefore only eaten in the hotel once and opted to eat out instead. We come to this area of the world for their fine dining and high standards. There is therefore nothing worse than being made to feel you are in ‘the cheap seats’ We booked a boating excursion via our hotel concierge which was setting off from just a 10min Drive down the road. We were quoted 150aed for the transport to the boat. We declined. Took a taxi from the hotel lobby instead which cost us less that 20AED !!! A ridiculous mark up from the hotel made us uncomfortable to book anything further through them. No one likes to be blatantly ripped off! All in all, it is a clean and tidy hotel. Location not great, food/drink/room service over priced for the venue. Would I stay here again' Probably not due to location
"Good facilities and Excellent service"
We stayed at the hotel between 1 st and 8 th of Nov . It was our third visit to AD .Great place to visit during Oct/Nov. The Sheraton is an old hotel and the rooms are quite small but the facilities are good. It's a resort in the city which is a big advantage.Lovely pool, hot tub, brilliant gym, tennis, squash and some very nice restaurants. The staff are truly wonderful.Shane at main Reception,Anthony and Yan housekeeping,Ajeith, Sunjeewa and egg chefs in restaurant deserve a special mention.Jacob for the pool towels and Hazel at breakfast reception are also superb. It's worth booking a club room as the snacks and drinks during the day are a bonus.
"a very nice view but The hotel needs renovation"
we stayed three days at the hotel to have rest from work, The view from the room was magnificent, but the room itself needs to be renovated, we tried the Italian and Mexican restaurants not the best specially the Italian one, I think the hotel charges an expensive rate for a lower standard of service compared to other hotels that we had been to in Abu Dhabi and Dubai
"Avoid, private parties keep you awake"
Avoid this hotel. There are government parties all night long. The night manager does not care about your good night sleep as the guests at the party are more important. He mentioned that the hotel is fully booked and there is nothing he can do. Also the day staff doesn't offer any compensation.
