"“Luxury Sheraton Grand Macau - Grand but not Ostentatious, witn Excellent Service and nice views”"
When I arrived at the hotel, I didn't realize just how big the hotel actually was - the lobby is large but retains a bit of an intimate feel. And this idea runs through how the entire hotel operates - it always feels like personal service and attentiveness - just the right amount. Yet for such a large property, the excellent team manage to deliver that personal feel. Front office staff are superb (notice how many other reviews of this hotel focus on this as well). Check in was quick, well organized and welcoming - yet there were tons of tor groups arriving at the same time : none of the staff went into a flap - all were remained cool and in control, never losing the personal touch. So a great first impression indeed. I stayed on the top floor, corner room with a nice view of some other hotel properties and the street below. The room has really nice large windows. Also the room was really nice and large - spacious and well laid out, as was the bathroom. My main criticism of the room - decor ! - must be the ugliest, weirdest hotel room carpet I have ever seen (cream with dark red ''splats'' design) - it looks dirty, because of the choice of the colours (mismatched) - I doubt a professional interior designer was involved. The furniture, though of very good quality, is mismatched as well, and looks like it was salvaged from some 1940's building that was about to be torn down. So unfortunately, it's a rough and tumble, thrown-together, brick-a-brac solution to furnishing the room. Hotel staff - excellent : +6stars Hotel operation - excellent : +6stars Hotel room decor - shocking : -2 stars Location is excellent though - there is a large mall on the ground floor connecting all the other hotel properties on that side of the road, as well as a walk-over bridge to the other side. Lot's of stores, restaurants, cafes, and food court.
"Feast, great restaurant & buffet~"
The buffet was great, even though which is doing promotion. The staff were nice, very helpful and obliging, especially Andrea and Derek, providing a effective service to us and agreeable environment. Having fun there~
"Excellent Stay at Sheraton!"
We enjoyed our stay in Sheraton, clean and spacious room, helpful and friendly staff! There are shops from food to clothes right by the hotel, we had great dinner at Bene the italian restaurant. We will certainly come back!
"Staycation in Macau"
My family and I stayed at the Sheraton Grand in Macau last week from Thursday the 15th through Sunday the 18th of June. I am a very frequent business traveler having worked in the USA, South America and Asia for the past 20 years and have frequented hotels from 5 star to others that shouldn't even host guest and everything in between. We are from the States, but have lived and worked in Macau for the last 10 years. Usually when I take my family on trips with me, we stay at nicer hotels for the Wife's sake and the kids enjoy having their own room next door. Although we have stayed at several other hotels in Macau, we decided to try the Sheraton Grand to see and compare their services and amenities. Upon arrival, it is certainly one of the more busy front desks in Macau, but to the operation's credit they keep the line moving and are sufficiently staffed to accommodate the rush of check-ins. As SPG members we enjoyed a room upgrade and access to the club lounge. Services are comparable to other elite hotel clubs that we belong to, but the staff is very nice and their English is very good compared to other local hotels. Our room was very nice, spacious, and clean, bathrooms are well designed and everything seems well maintained. Other properties that I have stayed at and worked with have had shower door issues and accidents caused by poor design. Overall, I would say the room, staff, and services are caparable to Any of the 5 star hotels in Macau; the only shortfall that I would mention about our stay would have to do with the food in the club lounge. The breakfast variety is fair and their buffer style setup is alright, many other clubs that I have frequented have side menus for specialty a la carte orders, but maybe due to the number of guests Sheraton cannot do that. Also the snack time and tea time selection is quite limited. Besides those little issues, which the majority of guests probably don't frequent, the Hotel stay and experience is equal to any 5 star hotel in Macau and often at a price that is a fantastic value. Along with the Sheraton, I also need to mention that overall, it's location on the Cotai strip, puts it at the very center of all of the other great amenities that are available to experience. Everything is a short walk, either over the foot bridge to the Parisian or to the shopping and dining at the Venetian. Really, the most convenient and accessible way to enjoy the Macau Cotai Strip!
"Elevator is the worst"
About one to two weeks prior to our trip we requested to have 3 rooms that should be close to each other, but when we arrived we could only be arranged with rooms about half a minute distance from each other. The worst thing appeared in the lift. They install a security system that requires the use of room card to get access to the floor we lived, but that system often malfunction. For quite a few times we could only take the lift back to G/F and scan the room card again. The elevator is really a mess.
