Good things: Excellent bed, bed linen and duvets -- the most important thing in a hotel! O.K.: Food, service (as usual, English is hardly spoken or understood), pool, Bad: Surroundings, meaning anything and everything around the hotel -- mostly dirty and noisy constructions sites and a very noise highway. To get to the center of the city takes a lot of time with crazy Istanbul traffic which has become worse over the years. (Of course, it's not the hotel's fault but it's an important consideration when you're choosing a hotel.) Overall impression is that the hotel is neglected --yes, it works kind of all right but is it being prepared for a sale' Renovation' Refurbishment' Don't know and don't care, it didn't touch me -- except for the bed!
"Great Location with good security "
I went there for a 3 day business trip. It was a good hotel overall, they gave me an upgrade for a ocean view room, the rooms were clean and neat. I requested a King size bed, but the room came with two double beds, the breakfast was the same the 3 days continuously, no variation at all (I will recommend to eat breakfast somewhere else); the wifi was really good and convenient, the TV has not a single channel that Speaks other language than Turkish, so I will recommend you to bring your tablet or laptop with some series or something to spend time there. Some good from there is that they can arrange you transportation from the hotel to nearby places for free and uber is very easy to get. I will definitely will go back to the hotel, but won’t include the breakfast to the reservation.
"Luxurious hotel "
This is a luxurious hotel with good security for guests. The outdoor poor is big and nice but I didn't use it because it is quite cold now for an outdoor swim. However there is an indoor heated pool which is quite nice and come with a jacuzzi. If you wanted to swim in the indoor pool, remember to bring a swimming cap as it is a requirement. The gymnasium is excellent with plenty of equipment for your fitness requirements. The buffet breakfast is quite substantial with plenty of choices both local and western. Room service food is nice too especially the lamb chops which is a must try ! The only slight complain is the room is slightly dated but it is clean and tidy. Aircon is centralized. There is also a mall just beside the hotel within 5 mins walk. Overall it is a wonderful hotel.
"Tired hotel, lacklustre reception service "
Reception experience was poor, she wasn't rude but was not welcoming, no help with suitcases offered, no information about breakfast or wifi given. Plus she started serving the man behind me whilst still checking me in, actually that is rude. Got to the room which was quite small, furniture and decor is tired and scratched, walls are marked. I was given a room with 2 single beds but I wanted a double. Called reception and asked for a double bed. Straight away (ie she didn't check) she said there are no double beds available (I checked in at 4.30pm on Thursday 12 October) but said she could send someone up to make the bed into a double. A guy arrived fairly promptly at my room and pushed the beds together, job done! I thought they might change the bed linen to a double ... I could have pushed the beds together myself! Put the tv on, lots of news channels, no entertainment or music channels. The remote control buttons were so worn that I couldn't see the writing, so just had to guess the channels and which ones were volume control and channels up /down. Bath is looking grubby and showing mould in places. Basic toiletries on offer. Shower over the bath not separate. On the plus side, im not sure what they pipe through the lobby area but it smells nice! It's a short walk to the marina where there are lots of restaurants. Room is clean. It's the type of room where I didn't want to unpack my suitcase as it wasn't welcoming or homely. In summary, dated hotel, poor service. I will be requesting that the company I work for no longer book this hotel.
"worst spg hotel experience"
Beware!! Staff needs better training, especially the maids. Stayed there for 3 nights and every day the maid misplaced something.. First day she took 2 of my battery packs and placed them in the drawer on the night table Second day she put clothes i had on top of my laundry bag and put them in my luggage and another bag Last day she put my expensive laser cap and a tshirt and placed it on the bottom drawer of the bedside table where its impossible to see Receptionists are very unaccomodating, as we phoned multiple times for their help to make appointments, or to book a doctor In the SPG lounge the food was appalling. Had the same stale, poorly cooked foods every day. Additionally, the staff sitting at the SPG lounge desk eating and chatting as guests walked in as if it was their break room. Very unprofessional behaviour Once we made these complaints nothing was done to solve them. Overall not up to SPG or any Sheraton hotel standards.
