"One fine stay..."
We had another very good stay here recently. The staff, particularly at Reception, were warm and accommodating while our room, complete with spa bath, was a godsend given the incredibly wet weather which greeted us in the city and Provincia de Buenos Aires region. My wife was a bit nonplussed at the total absence of English language programming. CNN was only available in the news deficient Latin American version, for instance. The Gym on the 2nd Floor is a very good amenity and is accessible 24 hours a day!
"NOT A 5 STAR Hotel"
Very far from been a 5 star hotel, you are pushing the 4 , Specially if 2 weeks prior you were at Roma Waldorf Astoria a real 5 star hotel 😉 Hotel grounds are beautiful and stops there In any 5 star hotel in the world if your breakfast is included with your room they will charge the room service only in here you pay again for breakfast and room service If you have trouble with elevators... Find someone to help almost impossible 6 phone calls to the hair salon ... No luck Spa charges extra plus services And my list will go on and on and on Just be aware not a 5 star hotel and a very expensive Very disappointed
"Well run very clean hospitable hotel"
Stayed a week in a sea view room. The room was clean large with sufficient closet space. However no coffee maker or kettle and no English channels on the TV. Fortunately we had a laptop with access to Netflix. However here's a real annoyance the WIFI is not free. Like everyone else especially at what we paid for the room it is outrageous to add wifi charges. The breakfast is excellent. The restaurant is so so and expensive. The staff particularly reception are A++++
"Great option for Mar del Plata"
We went for a family trip and we took several rooms. One was a suite and it was excellent. The other 2 rooms were adequate size (on the smaller side) with usual Sheraton decor. The hall was lovely, and I used the gym facilities and I found everything I needed. The breakfast was excellent. But what stood up was the kids facilities- we left the kids on their crèche and they absolutely loved it, the staff was very friendly and they served snacks for the kids too. We'll definitely consider coming back to the Sheraton if we are ever back to Mar del Plata, but for international standards we found it a bit too expensive.
Although nicely located near Mar del Plata's Golf Course, this hotel badly needs to be refurbished if still wishing to claim the prices they are asking. At US$280 per night this outdated hotel does not come cheap. Slow internet connection, old-fashioned rooms (I ordered a double bed but got a twin, and I was given the option to pay extra for a room with double bed!, which I politely declined. The only hotel I stayed in in Argentina that did not have European-compatible plugs. Toilet did not flush. Breakfast was way below a 5-star standard. Even though it claimed to be "almost full" online when I made the reservation, it looked half-empty. Went for lunch in the lobby bar, ordered a steak sandwich which still had not arrived after 45 min (!), so I canceled. VAT (21%) is no longer due on hotel stays in Argentina since 1st Jan 2017, but it was added to my check. I had to make a remark to make them change. The prestige it probably once had is definately gone. Will not come back. Disappointing and a rip-off.
