Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel is one mile to Arlington National Cemetery. Many attractions including the White House, Lincoln Memorial and the National Museum of Natural History are within a 10-minute drive of the hotel.
We enjoyed staying at the Sheraton. The staff was very friendly particularly the shuttle drivers. The only complaint is the breakfast was not very good. The waitress was good but the quality of the food was poor.Comment of V. Charlotte , United States the 2016-07-21
"Nice one night stay "
We stopped in DC on our way to Virginia for the week. We had a late arrival check in, and we're only there for a few hours. Staff was friendly, lobby was gorgeous, and the room was in okay enough condition. Definitely dated and a little worse for wear, but no real complaints.
Stayed for a few days. Staff here are very friendly and helpful. The room decor is pretty standard, but was clean and the bed was great, really comfortable. I found the AC to be a bit noisy but it did the job. The interconnecting door let through a bit of noise, but only a problem if neighbours were loud. Breakfast was great - you can have it downstairs or if you have access to the lounge on the 14th floor you can have it there. There is a complimentary bus which goes to Regan airport, and another goes regularly to the nearby shopping mall. There is a well stocked sundry shop in the foyer. The leisure facilities were good, a fair range of fitness machines (and it was really quiet) and a medium sized indoor pool. Its next to the Arlington Cemetery and very near the Pentagon, so a little out of the way for central DC but it was a short taxi ride to get there. DC itself was surprising, very nice city. Would happily return for another visit.
"Desperately in need of remodel"
This was a business trip and the hotel was well located for me, but it really needs a remodel, although staff is good. I was given "key" to my room and it didn't open.. After walking back to the desk twice to tell them it didn't work, the staff finally apologized, saying the computer program took at least 5 minutes to trigger the door lock. In addition, the hotel is a bit shabby, flaking paint, musty smell, and, on my floor (2) the ceiling is very low... the hall is only the height of the door. I won't stay there again.
"Sheraton Pentagon City: Why Stay Anywhere Else'"
An impressive hotel on a hill, overlooking the Pentagon and Air Force Memorial, the Sheraton Pentagon City offers spectacular Washington/Arlington views. When in Washington, D.C., why stay anywhere else' Greeted in the Platinum check-in line by Front Desk Associates Rachel and Ali, I was immediately upgraded to the highest floor and superior king sweet suite. I knew my stay would be special when Erlieta in the Sheraton Club Lounge greeted me by name -- wishing me an enjoyable stay in one of the finest hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in. When the computer in the Lounge experienced a technical problem, the management wasted no time, sending the ace Assistant Front Office Manger to the rescue. Once on the scene Olaolu launched into action, fixing the glitch, in moments. Spending a few minutes With Olaolu it was clear that the Sheraton Pentagon City retains quality personnel in senior positions. A point reinforced when the Director of Hotel Ops and Director of Sales, Moe & John, respectfully, stopped me in the lobby inquiring about my stay -- how is the comfort of the room, overall service' My response' After staying in every brand in the Starwood Family of hotels, Sheraton Pentagon City tops the list. Why you ask. Location, location, location -- immediately followed by the high level of service/pleasant accommodations, housekeeping prowess, and loyalty recognition. Once arriving my sun-drenched sweet suite overlooking the grounds of Arlington Cemetery, a hand-written note, accompanied by shimmering/lovely libation, lay on formal dining room table -- Associate Rachel from the Front Desk, thanked me for my loyalty, asking if there was anything needed to make my stay better' Could my stay get any better, I thought to myself while sampling the eggs and sausage at the well appointed breakfast buffet. As I looked up from my plate, the ever smiling Waitstaff Tirhas asked me the same question. Can I get you something else' More tasty edibles followed. An action based can-do-attitude (with a smile) is instilled across the team by the Houston native GM. A feeling conveyed in the welcome message penned before arriving the hotel: we are looking forward to your stay; please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your stay special. In today's fast-paced world, receive personalized notes from hotel management is very special indeed. Thank you so much for a great stay. If you like frequent shuttles to the airport/Metro, clean spacious rooms, comfy beds, tasty meals, expeditious service with a smile, switched-on management teams, stay at the Sheraton Pentagon City, you will be glad you did.
"Couple night stay on the way to PA"
The hotel is directly behind the War Memorial in Arlington, in a residential area. Only an 8 minute drive to the Kennedy Center/Mall area. Very nice hotel, beautiful lobby, covered parking deck with $30 a night parking (which depending on the room you book may be free). Residential area around the property may be a tad humble but no problems or never felt unsafe. The hotel is divided into 2 building-the main building where the lobby, guest rooms, restaurant and conference rooms are, and the connected building that is just guest rooms (i think). Very nice banquet hall, sundries shop, grill and lounge, and main hotel restaurant. The hotel offers room service, the morning breakfast buffet in the potomac was VERY good, with very attentive servers. The attendents at the front desk extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I stayed on the 9th floor-decent view, EXCELLENT room-bed was like sleeping on a pillow, EXTREMELY nice oversized leather chair and ottoman. AC unit under the window was a tad noisy but nothing out of the ordinary. Very nice dossier of hotel services and menus, desk with multiple ports and several lamps around the room. Closet area outside the bathroom had a sink and mirror, but the actual bathroom was a bit odd, VERY long counter with no sink in the actual bathroom, standard tub.Very good stay and bc the bed was so comfy I changed them just to sleep in more than I anticipated. DEF will stay again when in the DC area. Huge room for the price, and very well appointed.
