"Awesome views and right on the beach.."
This hotel is directly on the Mediterranean sea providing amazing views from pretty much any room on the property. The staff is very friendly and prices are not too bad considering the area. The location is great as you can walk all over Tel Aviv and check out the cool sites and local restaurants, bars and shops. It is also a cheap cab ride into the Old Jaffa Port which is filled with history and great photo opportunities as well. The Renaissance has a nice pool, good bar and a great spa with all the services you can imagine a reasonable prices. For those seeking a little adventure, there is a Gentleman's club about three football fields from the property. Tel Aviv is a late night city so there is something to do at pretty much any hour of the day or night. If traveling to Tel Aviv I would definitely recommend this hotel as the place to stay. It was clean, the amenities were great and the staff was friendly.
"Good location but dirty and dated rooms"
The hotel is at a good spot, and the staff are generally OK. But the rooms are terrible, dates, and unclean. the cleaning staff do not even wipe the dust from the table on a daily basis. The rooms are small and have basic facilities. For the price you pay here I would recommend any other hotel on the same street, even if they are a little expensive. The swimming pool is OK, but the pool in other hotels is much nicer and offer better services (including serving food). One more things, the beds are most uncomfortable, i have not slept a single night in comfort. Not sure this should be a five star hotel and a Marriott'' My verdict is to only book this if there is no other choice.
"Mediocre Hotel topped off with unsympathetic hotel manager"
The Good: The views are dynamite. Totally awesome. The staff in the executive lounge (especially Daniel) are friendly and helpful. The Mediocre: The restaurant (singular) is a giant buffet hall. Nope. Not gonna catch me eating there. The shower in my room was so narrow that I had to turn sideways to use it. The safe in my room was not big enough to put my laptop in. And I have a tiny macbook air. The Unsympathetic: My flight leaves after midnight. When my admin made reservations, she looked at the departure date and not the time, so accidentally booked me for an additional night (at $385!!!) I did not discover any of this until I went to check out - and the Hotel manager insisted upon charging me for the night I am not in the room. Yes, I suppose the cancellation clause gives her that right - but COME ON!
"Excellent location, bit worn down"
I'll start with the absolute top: personnel is great: friendly, helpful, excellent service. Israeli buffet breakfast has a very wide variety of choices. Setting is nice with view on the beach. The hotel and rooms are clean, nothing to remark on that. However, the rooms are a bit worn down and could do with some refurbishment taking them into the 21st century. It all looks and feels very much as a seventies hotel.
We ordered 2 nights for a couple with 2 children. We have got 2 rooms with common door - excellent solution. Very clean, very tasty, very nice view to the sea ( just need to ask for a room with sea view ) . The exit from the hotel to the beach is very comfortable, pool and spa are very nice. The hotel is not cheap but you get in return a full comfort.
