"Not as nice as other Renaissance Hotels"
I stayed here for a few days on a business trip. The hotel is not as nice as what I have come to expect from the Renaissance. The wallpaper was bubbled on the walls and the room service was not good. The hotel has a great location on the beach but the hotel is dated and needs to be remodeled
"Very good business hotel, with good service."
This property is certainly showing some signs of old age, and would benefit from a thorough renovation. That said, you cannot beat a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean which most rooms in this hotel have. Access to the beach and the walking trails is spectacular. The hotel breakfast is vast and delicious, served in a very unpretentious dining room with views of the water. The rooms are fine, if dated. All staff we encountered were lovely and helpful. They assisted with setting up tours to Jerusalem and The Dead Sea and couldn't have been nicer. Nothing fancy here, but very solid in a number of ways. I was skeptical at first, especially after wandering over to the Hilton which has a beautiful and opulent lobby. But after a week at this property it more than won me over.
"Terrible property, stay somewhere else"
The place is run down, I was in the executive floor and the walls were peeling. I did have the highly recommended breakfast and I found it just ok. I have been to other Renaissance properties and they are way better than this one. I would say stay somewhere else, the sheraton next door actually looks pretty decent.
This hotel is right on the beach, but that is the only compliment that I have about this hotel. The rooms are mediocre, and you can hear other room occupants thorough the night. My biggest complaint is the poor service. It is not anywhere close to Marriott standards. 1) Room was not ready at check-in. The front desk attendant said that he would find me when my room was ready in approximately one hour. I waited in the lobby for over an hour and eventually went up to the desk. He told me my room was ready. I would expect him to come over to me and tell me that the room is ready. 2) Very limited room service selection after 10 pm. Room service is offered 24/7, however from 10 pm - 6 AM it is essentially small sandwiches, salads, and finger food. (all cold). 3) Limited breakfast selection - lots of bread/pastries/cheese. Limited fruit selection, no meat. There are many other great hotel options in Tel Aviv that also are right on the Mediterranean. I would highly recommend looking at another hotel - this hotel does not come close to Marriott standards.
Stayed at the Renaissance for 8 nights. Room was overall ok. Rooms are not sound protected - you can easily hear your neighbor talking in the room next door. Service in the restaurants and room service were nothing but poor. No food could be served after 10pm except less than a handful of cold dishes from room service. The hotel bar was closed long before 11pm. Breakfast choices are very poor. This hotel does not deserve to be called a Renaissance.
