"Beautiful hotel, friendly to families, great service!"
I knew the hotel as being swank and hip from my days living on South Beach. I now live in the Midwest and have two kids. I was looking for a hotel on South Beach since there are so many great restaurants and museums- and beaches within walking distance. Shore Club offered great summer rates, and families had given it great reviews. I was excited to stay at this beautiful hotel with my kids. The hotel has a beautiful outdoor area with two large and warm pools- and is right next to the beach. They offer towel and chair service, and set you up wherever you want. They have a restaurant that offers a great buffet breakfast and lunch- that includes food kids will eat and enjoy. As we departed the hotel, my daughter lost her beloved little stuffed dog. We had to leave without it. A few days later, Jean Charlemagne in security, contacted us and shipped it back to us. I was impressed to see that great service continued even after our departure. Our experience was fantastic, and the kids call Shore Club their favorite hotel.
"Disappointing Customer Service after Hurricane Irma"
I booked a stay at Shore Club hotel in Miami from September 15th to September 19th. This trip was for me to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, one of the worst hurricanes in Florida's history occurred last weekend. I immediately contacted the customer service reservation line on Friday, September 8th, to inquire about options for my stay if the hurricane hits Miami. The representative told me that the hotel will assess the damage on Tuesday Sept 12 and will notify customers if the hotel would be open or closed. I contacted the hotel on the 12th and was told that the hotel was still closed but would be open on the 15th and my only options were to cancel and face a penalty of losing my deposit or reschedule for a different date. The representative told me to wait to make a decision until Wednesday, after someone visits the hotel to assess any damage. If the hotel was closed then they would be able to make other options. I contacted the hotel on Wednesday the 13th and was told the hotel will be open on Friday the 15th, so my only options are to cancel and lose my deposit or modify my stay. So I was forced to pick another date that had a higher rate. After a couple of hours, I went on the website and saw that the update from the hotel was that it was actually going to be closed until the 20th. I contacted customer service immediately. I was extremely disappointed in the service I received. The representative was not accommodating or understanding my situation. I told her that I just modified the stay that morning for a higher rate based upon being told that the hotel was going to be open during my stay. Then a couple of hours later the hotel puts a public notice that they will be closed. I was not even given an option of keeping my original rate due to the Hotel not being open during my original stay.
"Awesome stay awesome staff"
This is one of the best hotels I have been to. The service and attention that the staff give is beyond awesome... I had intimated the concierge that my husband bday was the day before we arrive and I wanted to know if they would arrange some kind of surprise... they went beyond my expectation and my hubby was super excited seeing it.. the staff is amazing and special shout out for arranging such fabulous cake.. you truely made our stay special.. cannot wait to come back.
"The place to stay in Miami Beach"
Very comfortable stay and nice, professional and helpful staff (in particular, Christa that took care of us at the reception). Spending time in the pool area is something to try as well as the beach side. We hope to come back soon!
We spent four nights at the Shore Club. We were upgraded to a balcony room on the 7th floor that faced Collins Ave and had a nice side view of the ocean. The room was very large with a great bathroom - walk in shower and 2 person tub. The only issue with these rooms is that the balcony is exposed to the smells from the kitchen - so it isn't pleasant to sit out during the summer. Regardless, wee definitely appreciated the extra space and would book this category again - but facing a different direction. Our room was very clean although in need of some touch-ups as the other reviewers have noted. The wifi in our room was spotty, although great in the lobby - so if you have to do some work, as we did, this is a comfy spot to get it done. The pool is the show-stopper here as is the outdoor lounge in the evening. Just stunning. The beach is also lovely with a swimable beach, but do know that an umbrella will set you back $20 a day (the beach chairs are included in your resort fee). We were at the resort during a low period so we had no waits for anything - except the pool chairs once on Friday before the long weekend. Only downside for us, smoking is allowed poolside, and it isn't that big of a space so it is hard to get away from the smell. The people here are what make the resort. We were greeted with friendliness everywhere we went - especially from the pool/beach towel crews and the breakfast team. We loved the live entertainment, but would have liked to have known about it in advance, it wasn't promoted and might have been why the lounge was empty that night. We would have had dinner at the resort had we known.
