Conveniently anchored in the city center in London’s West End on the corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place, just a quick stroll from Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the shops of Regent Street, Piccadilly and Oxford Street, as well as museums and theaters.
"Very Good indeed"
The hotel has a perfect location. Rooms, staff and restaurant are very good indeed. The cost-benefit (considering London prices) is almost perfect. I had a minor problem with my room key. Problem solved with an apologize request. I will return.
"An elegant and private hotel in the heart of London"
My wife stayed at the Sofitel St James for the first time this November. We were very pleased to find the Sofitel to be more of a boutique hotel than the larger type hotel normally found in the center of London. The hotel is conveniently located a very short walk from Green Park, the Mall, and Piccadilly. And, close to the theater district. The staff at this hotel is excellent. From the doorman to the house keeping staff. All were very pleasant, and helpfully when we required assistance. The bar has a very intimate and comfortable feel, and the brassiere served very good food. Not an inexpensive hotel, however. But, considering it is in London, we felt it delivered value. Particularly when you consider the lack of quality one finds in London hotels regardless of price. Strongly recommend this hotel if you are considering a visit to London. It will provide you with a very comfortable refuge in the heart of the city.
"An excellent hotel."
Our sons booked this hotel for our birthday. We had afternoon tea in the Rose Room. After tea we returned to our room and found a birthday cake and a card signed by the hotel staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff during our stay.. We can recommend the hotel breakfast. The hotel is located close to theaters and places of interest; there are car parks near to the hotel. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.
"Excellent hotel in centre of London"
Spent a wonderful night at this Sofitel whilst attending a Private View at the Mall Galleries. The location of the hotel is perfect for many of the main attractions in London - a stone's throw from Covent Garden, Piccadilly, Regent Street and Trafalgar Square. The staff at the hotel are extremely attentive. Even the doormen look as though they are enjoying standing out in the cold!! The bar was welcoming in the evening, and the bar snacks were superb. The room was spacious and comfortable, the turndown service was excellent - no chocolates, but there was chamomile tea to ensure we got a good nights sleep! It would have been difficult not to sleep well, as the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, with plenty of choice. It's by no means a cheap hotel, but for 5 star accommodation in the centre of London, it is very good value.
"The best breakfast "
We stayed at this hotel with our four year old daughter this weekend and it really is beautiful, in an exceptional location. We had paid for a room with a view and though our room did not overlook the square with the Christmas tree, we were overlooking interesting buildings on Pall Mall so it was fine. One of the stand out features of the hotel for us was the food. We used room service for two breakfasts and a dinner. At first I thought the vegetarian options seemed limited but a roast goats cheese starter was lovely and the pasta with pesto the best I’ve had. Honestly, sounds boring but wasn’t. My cooked breakfast again was amazing, I would love to know how they made the tomatoes taste so good! There were some errors with the last breakfast we had but they were dealt with and apologised for which shows they take good service seriously. The room service menu is so extensive, we even ended up ordering hot milk and cookies at bedtime for our daughter, such a sweet touch. Then the turn down service was also a nice surprise.. we came back to our room to find camomile tea by our beds, our slippers put out and classic fm playing soothing music on the sound system! Every aspect of our stay felt like the hotel go the extra mile to add special touches of luxury. I just want to add that the hotel smells amazing! Apparent it’s called Essence of Sofitel! Lovely!!
