"Ok hotel, mwah for 5 star"
Stayed for 3 nights, experience was ok. Hotel didn't have much atmosphere. Rooms were fine, strange though you could see in bathroom through a window. Parking very expensive. Biggest let down was the quality of the wifi, hardly any signal with the free wifi. When I complained about it at check out I was advised to have choosen the paid wifi. Come on, it's a 5 star hotel, why can Motel One have good quality' On the postive side, very nice gym with great views. Will I stay here again, no. Next time back to the neighbours where you also get free transport pass, although they have same issues with the wifi.
"top class hotel"
we booked 2 rooms at very convenient offer and we enjoyed aour stay during a businness week. Rooms are very confortable, good beds, fantastic shower. breakfast is excellent. hotel is 3 minutes walk from Haupbahnhof, so it is very easy to reach all Berlin attactions with public transport
"Great Hotel - 4.5/5"
Stayed at this hotel recently and would recommend easily a 4.5 but that's not available to select. Nice modern clean look and finish when you first walk in. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was great, light and open. Good size bathroom with good facilities (hairdryer, shaving mirror etc) walk in shower, 2 different shower heads, standard and rainforest style. Facilities in the room were good, kettle and nespresso coffee machine, mini bar (advised we could use this as a fridge for our own drinks etc), wardrobe with plenty of space and a safe. Good location, close to main station and hop on hop off buses for sightseeing. Nice walk to the reichstag and Brandenburg gate about 15 minutes away. Not too many negatives, wi fi can be a bit hit and miss at times and construction work is taking place outside the hotel, we did eat in the restaurant as well food was ok but doubt I would recommend eating there.
"Best High End Value in Berlin"
According to berlin-info, there are 31 five star hotels in Berlin. If you are asking what is special about the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt: It is located right next to the Hauptbahnhof. In Berlin this means: It is right in the center but at the same time in the middle of nowhere. Most of the sights and good restaurants are not far away, but none of them is right next door. Indeed, except for the main station and other hotels, nothing is right next door :-) The hotel itself is quite new and a good five star house. And due to the strong competition in Berlin, it is usually great value. At least if you enjoy business rates like I do ;-) I choose the Steigenberger am Kanzleramt any time I do not plan to go out after work and want to spend a quiet evening at the hotel instead. If you want to be right in the middle of Berlin big city life in the evening, there are much better places to stay, for example at the Friedrichstraße or next to Hackescher Markt and Alexanderplatz.
"Exceptional Hotel.....We Loved It!"
Love the clean and modern architecture of the lobby and rooms. Room is clean and nicely designed, walk in shower, huge windows, lots of lights, good temperature controls and TV. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a short walk to the train station and lots of Hop On....Off bases are just across the street.
