"one of the Best Choices in Istanbul"
One of the best choices in Istanbul. clean and quiet room. Perfect breakfast. Polite and kind Staff and receptions. I have a perfect see view in my room.It is located in Sisli. 15 mins walk to Cavahir mall and Metro and after that the second station is Taksim. I like this hotel very much and when ever i want to visit Istanbul i will book Surmeli again.

"Surmeli Hotel A 5 star''''!!! I highly doubt it!!!"
So if you are planning your next trip to The beautiful Istanbul and you are considering that 5 star residency, Surmeli Hotel shouldn’t be along that list. Apart from those tricky photos with panoramic glass elevators nothing else rates as 5 star except for a couple of front desk personnels named “Cem” and “Murat” whom were truly helpful. Watch out for those early early morning knocks on your door from the cleaning lady speaking only Turkish, aggressively opening the door and on other ocasiones the Mini Bar personnel surprising you by suddenly being in the middle of the room while you are getting dressed or ... . Breakfast such as a 4 star, cleanness around 6 out of 10, rooms are anciently decorated and poorly maintained. If you are ever in Istanbul watch out for those sneaky taxi drivers trying to make their monthly income in one trip from you and even the taxi-meters are useless if you are to be circled purposely. Do Not Get Me Wrong, Turkish people are Great, welcoming, warm blooded and very kind but there are some you should be careful of. Thank you Istanbul.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Impolite receptionists, dirty bathroom, uncomfortable extra bed. And finally after a an awful stay , you are charged for things you never had never used. Totally ruined my trip.
I am stuck in this hotel because pre-paid by my company whereas I should have run away. No way that it has ever been a 5 star, even less than average for a 3 star. If the lobby and bar are okay, the rooms instead are terrible: oldish stinky smelly stainy., dull...definitely not a business hotel and really depressing. Bad Istanbul experience.
