"Very helpful staff and nice rooms"
My mom, brother and I had an excellent time in Beijing, thanks to the very helpful and attentive staff here. Daniel in particular was super informative and patient with all our questions (we had a lot!) and his English is excellent so he was able to really help us out. But the other staff members who spoke English were also very obliging, including Gary. Without Daniel and the other staff members' help, we wouldn't have been able to do as much as we did, including scheduling a very early morning trip to the Great Wall and making a dinner reservation. In addition, the rooms were nice and the air conditioning worked, which was great. I think the bathroom could have been a little cleaner - it looks like the faucets could be re-grouted. But overall, the venue was nice and the facilities (gym/spa) looked incredible. The location is also super convenient which made it easy for navigating. Thank you Tangla Beijing for a great visit!
"Lovely clean rooms and polite staff"
My stay at this hotel has been far superior to any other hotel that I've stayed in in Beijing so far. My room was clean, had a spacious bathroom with a big bath, everything in the room worked and it wasn't too noisy. To top it off, one the staff that checked us in spoke pretty good English which is very useful for non-Mandarin speakers. The only negative was that one night for some reason there was a cigarette smell in our room, which we thought came from the air-con. But it had gone by the next morning and didn't return for the rest of our stay. As a guest you get free wifi, free use of the gym (although it's not very big) and free use of the swimming pool.
"first time visit to Beijing"
Visiting Beijing for the first time with family, especially for an Malaysian. we had a great 7days trip. special thanks to mr.prakash, gary and francis for taking us around the city and shopping. they had help us alot because we are not able the speak Chinese. the hotel staff was very helpful. thank for mia a trainer, she had brought us to a good restaurant. we all loved the food there
The hotel room was too hot. The toilet did not flush properly. The first manager who spoke limited English helped by moving me to a new room. She also opened the window so as to let the cool air in. However my 8am wake up call on the Monday did not occur but thereafter it was all good. She also brought in a portable fan. My kids were visiting also and Kitty the manager offered me a 2 bedroom suite at a reduced cost of $80 per night. This room was much cooler with 2 toilets and a large bathroom. I must also thank Gary Gao for all his efforts in ensuring I had a taxi from the street for each morning I went to work. However on morning when he was not working they insisted I take the hotel taxi which cost me 3 times the normal fare. Gary had also assisted me in getting train tickets to Tianjin and helped with directions and also with places to eat peking duck. He tried his level best and can converse decently in English. The same cannot be said for the rest of the staff who could not understand basic english, I suggest 2 staff fluent in english work on a rotation basis on a 24 hour shift. All english speaking guests should be diverted to them.
This was probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything is wonderful, the staff were very helpful and the rooms were very luxurious. One of the staff who were very helpful was Gary, he was the concierge and helped a lot when we wanted to do something. Just a few things that the hotel needs to improve on is that the staff should be able to English for fluently since only 2 people could speak some English, the second thing is that the rooms get very hot in the winter and you can't change the temperature on the thermostat which is a bit annoying. But overall this is an excellent place to stay
