"Old world glamour"
My husband and I stay here when we take our yearly vacation in Seattle. It's a beautiful place, with a lot of old-fashioned glam. Staff are friendly and responsive. The rooms are a bit tight, but spotlessly clean. We like it here.
"Beyond all Expectations"
From the first moment you arrive you are greeted by old world style bellman welcoming you to the hotel and holding the door for you. A step through the door transports you back 100 years to the high society of a wealthy gentlemen's club, complete with rich wood mouldings, high ceilings, an oversized fireplace (converted to gas, but still reminiscent), deep leather armchairs... Even a billiards table tucked away in the corner. The front desk staff are incredibly polished and professional but friendly and accommodating. The experience is so unlike many other DoubleTree hotels worldwide. You still sense elements of the parent company, but the Arctic Club is like the older sibling of the DoubleTree family who's been through a proper finishing school and the refinement is evident everywhere. Once checked in, the historic hotel is yours to explore. Tucked away in many areas are surprising gems of turn of the century architecture and grandeur, including a very large ballroom on the second floor with a huge domed, backlit ceiling made entirely of leaded stained glass. The room that we had was a suite on the penthouse. The room was beautifully appointed (even though the penthouse was obviously added in a recent renovation, care was given to reproduce the same feel as the rest of the hotel). Balconies that wrapped two sides of the building were ours to enjoy to the full, allowing for plenty of occasions for photos both of the skyline and our amazing time in this location. The breakfast was amazing and the in-house restaurant, although not well rated, had excellent food, good selection and a 4 star feel. If you are in Seattle or even if you live here, you should experience the Arctic Club for yourself. I have nothing negative to write or report.
"A unique hotel in the heart of Seattle"
From the roaring fire in the inviting lobby to the carefully decorated rooms, this hotel offers an exceptional opportunity to travel back in time to the glory days of hotel travel. The Arctic Club puts its interesting history on display while providing all the creature comforts that today's seasoned travelers are seeking. Enjoy a scrumptious Northwest omelette at the Juno restaurant or a reasonably-priced happy hour cocktail in the bar. Pioneer Square is only two blocks away and the light rail to/from the airport is just up the block. Splurge a little for that special occasion and stay here if you have the opportunity.
from check in to check out, this was a top rate experience in all regards. Beautiful facility, gracious staff, and extremely comfortable room. The bed and bedding was the most comfortable we have ever experienced in a hotel and the attention to detail by the staff was top notch.
First - this is absolutely not a typical Doubletree location. If the Arctic Club were joining the Hilton group today, it would almost certainly be in the Curio Collection and not in the Doubletree. The cosmetics follow the Doubletree convention and there is an on site restaurant and bar - the commonality ends there. The Arctic Club was built and operated as a Men's Club. They have taken that theme and run with it. The entire hotel is decorated to be reminiscent of the Klondike gold rush era. The key cards have photos of club members. The bar uses a polar bear theme with furnishings that are either vintage or great reproductions. It is a very refreshing change from corporate hotels. It could have gone into kitsch, but that was not our impression at all. Breakfast is in the Juno restaurant at ground level. Elite HHonors members get a breakfast credit of $12, which means that hot meals will cost just a couple of extra dollars. Service was great. The crab benedict was wonderful. The hotel staff - desk - Polar Bear Lounge - Juno Restaurant - were all engaging, helpful and friendly. The workout room is across from the restaurant on the ground level. Well enough equipped for most hotel workouts with lots of space for body weight work. Strongly recommend provided that the pricing lines up with your budget.
