"Modern, Comfortable Rooms"
I don't know how long the hotel has been around, but it features very modern, well-appointed rooms. Best of all, the facility and rooms are air conditioned; a very important consideration during a London heat-wave. The bathroom for our room had only a shower but had both a "rain" type fixed shower head as well as a hand-held shower head. The room was of average size but had a comfortable bed, a small refrigerator, and a room safe. Full breakfast buffet included with room rate.Friendly, accommodating staff and hotel was across the street from a London Tube station.
I stayed here for only 1 night and chose it because it was close to the Underground, just over the road actually. The hotel lobby and other areas are very nicely decorated and it has an overall pleasant feel/look. I did find the bedroom quite small but it is London. That said, it did have everything I needed and a ¾ bed (single room). Spotlessly clean and tidy and I wasn’t disturbed by outside noise. Breakfast was a buffet and was plentiful and delicious. It is short walking distances to many good restaurants and bars and it also has a Tesco just over the road in case you need some last minute products/food/drink. Check-in and out was quick and efficient. I would recommend this hotel and would certainly come back when back in London.
"All facade no substabce"
I have used Baileys hotel for many years and unfortunately it has been going downhill each visit. Even the recent update by Millennium Hotels is nothing more than a coat of paint. Same staff that have trouble with English. No air conditioning in the rooms only the constant whir as the unit wheezes out warm air on a 34 degree day. Smoke and mirrors from the front desk staff who write down your room number in the hope that some words spoken alluding to a call to maintenance will make you go away. Nothing done to stop guests sweltering in the heat. Very efficient however at charging a credit card. Absolutely no problems there. Nice bar. Deplorable breakfast. Thin walls. If staying in winter then it might be a nice stay. If the price was halved it would be reasonable. They have delusions of grandeur at the current pricing.
"Convenient location and comfortable"
We stayed here for 5 nights and it was selected based on the close proximity to the Underground, just opposite the Gloucester station. It is short walking distances to many good restarants, including Indian and Italian restaurants, pubs, 24-hour supermarket and convenient stores. The hotel provided consistent good service, free beverages in the room and strong wifi. Checking-in was very prompt and the conceirge's and doormen's recommendations were first class. The room was clean, spacious and really comfortable. We will certainly come back to the Bailey's.
"four night stay in London"
Very convenient opposite tube station. Rooms very clean and tidy. Room 522 overlooked main street but it was very quiet and no road noise. Food in restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent. Only complaint left our bags with the corsage service. When we went back they couldn't locate them. Took them 30 minutes to find our bags meaning we were then late for our train :(. Management didn't seem bothered at all. Disgusting service.
