"Brilliant - a much-needed quality option in Blackpool"
Stayed here for two nights with my family. We had two deluxe doubles and a deluxe family room, and all were excellent; very clean, modern decor, good upgraded bathrooms and well equipped. I asked for a good view of the park for the family room and got just that - the kids loved standing at the window and watching the rides. Even the two year old could do so as they are floor-to-ceiling windows. The family room was great, the six year old loved having her own bunk bed alcove with tvs, snakes and ladders on the wall, and a play station (you need to bring your own games, or hire them for £5 a day). Staff were extremely efficient, especially on reception and in the restaurant. One standout feature was the quality of the food. We ate one dinner, a lunch, afternoon tea and breakfast here, and the food was superb - so much better than anywhere else I've eaten in Blackpool. The priority entrance for the Pleasure Beach that the hotel has is great, it saves a long walk round to the main entrance. However it would be really helpful if it opened again late afternoon for people returning to the hotel. It's about a 15 min walk from the exit to the hotel and that feels like a very long way at the end of a tiring day! I'm really pleased to have found this hotel. It clearly prides itself on offering a high quality stay for its guests. If, like me, you've never been very impressed with the accommodation on offer in Blackpool, try The Big Blue. It's what you've been looking for!
"Wonderful stay, with excellent service and staff."
We had a one night stay at the Big Blue Hotel and cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Upon arrival we were told we'd been given an upgrade and we were given a lovely spacious room on the fourth floor. The room was immaculate, with a large bed and tea/coffee facilities. The service in the hotel was fantastic and the girl on reception was extremely helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful with a good range of food including a variety of cereals, pastries and a full english. All the staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has free onsite parking and there are plenty of spaces so parking isn't a problem. Hotel has free wifi! There's also a private entrance from the hotel to the pleasure beach...with free passes at reception. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel. It's stylish, clean, with a great location, free parking and wonderful staff. Would definitely stay again.
Stayed one night here on my way to Scotland. The hotel is next to the theme park and they offered us free tickets to explore the park. Although we are seniors we went for a walk around, a kids paradise for sure...The hotel itself was wonderful, friendly staff, free on site parking and lovely clean rooms...The breakfast buffet was excellent. As far as I could see driving around I would have to class this hotel as the best in Blackpool as most of the others I saw were very run down looking...
"Slight problems. "
Four of us stayed here in April 2017 through a package on travelzoo. We paid for the nights stay, 3 course meal and breakfast in one before we even got there. Upon arrival we were going to the pleasure beach that day, we called earlier and asked if it was okay to park the car for the day as we were staying and this was no problem at all. Check in was easy, the hotel is lovely and clean, the room was lovely and large. Bathroom was clean also, plenty of toiletries. The room was well equipped with a tv, iron and ironing board. This is where it went down hill. We booked a table for dinner. We sat down at the table and waited 25 minutes before anybody even came to see us for drinks orders. If the restraunt had been at full capacity I could of understood but I wouldn't even say it was half full. The waiter eventually came and took our orders, 40 minutes later our food arrived. 3 of the guests had steak, whilst I ordered fish and chips. When the fish came, he hadn't even sat the plate down in front of me before i noticed a big thick black hair sticking out of the batter. I pointed this out to the waiter and he apologised profusely and took it away. I told the 3 people I was with to start eating as with a 40 minute wait for the first round, theres would have been cold before I got Mine. Around 10 minutes later I eventually got my food. The chips and peas were the same from the first plate, the only thing that had been changed was the fish. As I cut into it milky white water came out onto the plate and the fish was stone cold. I ate my chips and left it at that as I'd waited long enough. When I told the manager what had happened he couldn't apologise enough, gave us a free round of drinks as our meal was already paid for with the hotel booking. Breakfast was also lovely, as were the other 3 meals, it just seemed that the fish wasn't the best point of the night. I most probably will return, just will not be eating at the facility. Lovely location to the pleasure beach and plenty of parking.
"U12 Curley Park Football Tour"
Excellent hotel - having stayed in many hotels for by daughters Latin and ballroom dancing but this place runs smoothly with good attentive staff. We traveled as a group of 30 and they accommodated all that we asked. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it too. The food for breakfast and dinner was also good and right next to the theme park.
