"The best stay ever!!!!"
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the staff took amazing care of us! We absolutely loved the pools, garden, beach villa and restaurants. Lovely staff, always present but discreet. It offers a mix of relax and fitness very well balanced.
"Beautiful but wet..."
The hotel is a beautiful hotel. 3 pools, beach front views, friendly staff and close to several shopping malls. However, the room was constantly wet with condensation soaked marble style walls. We even had to get the engineer to help open the door. The food was ridiculously overpriced too even for a 5* hotel. It was worth paying taxi fees to go out and eat on principle alone. Breakfast was pretty good and the staff were happy to help with taxis and tours.
Another amazing stay at the chedi! They took excellent care of us and ensured that all of our rooms were next to each other as requested. Although I was a bit disappointed by the slow service by the pool and limited food options. All in all I would still go again and thanks for a memorable weekend.
We stayed here for 3 days as part of a short trip to Oman with a British Airways package. Not normally the kind of hotel we stay in but it exceeded all expectations. The hotel, although quite unassuming from the front, is absolutely stunning. We stayed in the basic Serai room which was fabulous and more than spacious enough for the two of us. The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Water and soft drinks from the mini bar were free and toiletries replenished every morning. The hotel is situated on a private beach and the grounds are beautifully maintained with date trees and architecture. We spent most of our free time by the Serai pool which was well staffed. A particular mention to a lovely young man Veera who worked by the pool bar who was always so polite and friendly. A real credit to the hotel!! We had a couple of meals by the pool which although pricey (£10-£20 for a main) were very good. We would definitely return to this hotel, not only because of the location, but also the friendliness of all the staff. Well done Chedi!!
"Very very good!"
The Chedi Muscat certainly met our expectations. We booked with the Amex FHR and were provided with a nice upgrade on arrival, as well as other benefits. The room was very nice and had views of the gardens, with the ocean/beach in the distance. The service is extremely professional, with your every need taken care of. I do think the service could be more personal/ casual as you see in other 5* hotels, and as you experience at the Chedi Ubud hotel. The location is good but you do need a taxi to go anywhere in the city. Muscat is a spread out city with no real centre so the Chedi is great as it's towards the middle of all the sights. The beach and pools are very nice. The food is excessively expensive. To dine at their Restaurant you'll be paying $80 USD plus each in the evening, and it's $25 USD for a burger on the beach. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening as we wanted local food outside and their are more affordable nice options. Oman generally is quite expensive. Breakfast was very good with a large choice, and their pain du chocolat were fantastic! We had a very relaxing stay and would return, but we'll be choosing to explore other middle eastern cities before heading back to Oman.
