It is a fabulous resort with every upgrade you can hope for. We have been staying here for years....it's wonderful in every way. Shopping in the Crane Village, nice restaurant choices , a grocery store for incidentals and come cooking if you so desire. Friendly staff, beautiful ocean views from most buildings....4 or 5 pools, a beautiful beach...it is a complete package.Comment of M. Ron , United States the 2016-08-06
"One of the best places to stay in Barbados"
My Family had a great time at the Crane, we will definately be back. The staff are friendly especially the house keeper that serviced our room. This is a great location overlooking the Atlantic ocean; awesome.
"Beautiful Oceanside Setting"
We ended our cruise by staying at The Crane prior to heading back to the U.S. The resort is built in and around the original structure that they've melded into the landscape. Beautiful resort with excellent beach along a surf to play in (basically body surf or just get knocked around by large waves). Our suite had it's own pool with gorgeous views of the ocean and pools. Very peaceful and tranquil. We were allowed a late checkout prior to catching our flight so we were able to make the most of checkout day. This resort is priced on the high side and we would seek a more affordable daily rate by staying longer.
Very good rooms on ground floor with a pool. Beakfest good. Big private beach. Excellent service. Wonderful gardens and nature. Different night shows and interesting entertainments. Supermarkets are quitely far(
Our family visited the Crane during our Thanksgiving vacation. We were there for 4 days and were so sad to leave. Our daughters, 18, 4 and 2 had a phenomenal time and talk about our trip constantly. They are asking to return. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view suite, with the 28' plunge pool. Talk about paradise. The girls loved using our private pool in the morning before we went out for the day. We spent time at the stunning pools and incredible beach. For a family with small children, we really appreciated the kids club. It was a fun time for the girls to do their own thing, and for us to spend some adult time together. Our only minor complaint is you have to remember you are on "island time." The services is very friendly, but slow. The food is above average, but not outstanding. Now we're trying to figure out how we get back!
"Step up to the Crane. "
This was our second trip to the Crane. We went the week between Christmas with our two teenage boys (13 and 16). The Crane is a physically gorgeous spot on the East side of the island. Gorgeous cliffs, beach and pools on a large campus. There is always a breeze - so it does not feel so hot. It is a condo so the rooms are large apartment set-ups with a kitchen, dining area, balcony, washer-dryer etc. Because the campus is so large it never felt crowded - even during peak season (you did need to go down early if you wanted a place on the beach). The landscaping and grounds are perfect. Place is a little dated but no big deal. On the down side you are about 30 min from Bridgetown and all the restaurants and activities. About $60 round trip every time. The breakfast buffet is pretty uninspired. Beautiful spot overlooking the ocean - just blah repetitive food. And the hotel service is slow/not attentive. People are certainly nice and friendly - just not on top of things. For example it took a call to the manager to get blankets - literally two days and 6 calls did nothing. Or they kept running out of towels at the pool/beach. Or lunch took an hour to show up. There is a little grossly over priced market. There are 4 restaurants on the campus (try Zen) that are ok. We loved the beach and the surf (jumping off the cliff and swimming ashore was also fun) and hearing the thump of the waves on the cliffs. The big rooms and physically gorgeous campus keep us coming back.
