It is a fabulous resort with every upgrade you can hope for. We have been staying here for years....it's wonderful in every way. Shopping in the Crane Village, nice restaurant choices , a grocery store for incidentals and come cooking if you so desire. Friendly staff, beautiful ocean views from most buildings....4 or 5 pools, a beautiful beach...it is a complete package.Comment of M. Ron , United States the 2016-08-06
"Nice hotel, stunning views"
I visited the hotel beach on a previous trip to Barbados and I fell in love with the hotel. I promised my that I would return for a stay. My husband and I spent 4 nights & 5 days at this beautiful hotel. The rooms and hotel were always clean, comfortable and it great condition. The sea breeze is unmatched, I just lounged around by the pool and the breeze made me doze off numerous times. I had not a care in the world lol. For us, the only drawback with this hotel is its location. It's away from Bridgetown, other hotels, restaurants and popular spots like the Gap. All of these are about 30mins drive away. If you're looking for a hotel that's away from the tourist hustle and bustle then The Crane is for you.
We spent 5 nights at the Crane this month because we needed to get a break for a few days. It was our first proper stay at a hotel in Barbados, and we wanted somewhere where we could really relax and unwind. Turns out the Crane was the perfect choice! It was absolutely stunning, very relaxing indeed and the staff were genuinely friendly. The food was great, the nightly entertainment was very enjoyable, and the added bonus of a lovely art gallery with local art was very welcome. The jacuzzi in the room was great for relaxing in and the bed was super comfortable. We will definitely be back!
"Not even close."
I am currently staying at the Crane in a 2 Bedroom Penthouse with Plunge Pool, suite 952A. This resort is certainly not up to par with the standard that they pretend to uphold. The room, while nice and large, is becoming extremely dated and maintenance is definitely an issue both in the room and at the resort in general. Light bulbs are burned out in various fixtures in the room, doors stick and do not open once closed, the appliances are dated, especially the microwave, the blender had no blades, the dryer portion of the washer/dryer did not dry clothes, hot water was virtually non-existent and no maintenance was done on the plunge pool for the entire length of our stay which, by the 5th day of our 9 day stay, was sucking air and gurgling loudly due to the low water level. We could also look down from our balcony to the 28’ Infinity Edge garden pools which, at no point during our stay had enough water in them to have the infinity edge work and were never, during the course of our 9 day stay cleaned or maintained in any way and, in fact, had cups and various refuse floating in them. This suite also has an adjoining Junior Suite which can be utilized as a 3rd bedroom if wanted. Even though the resort was no where near capacity during our 8 day stay, a couple was checked into the room on Tuesday, who proceeded to have a domestic dispute and smoke marijuana repeatedly, every day for the remainder of our stay. Even though this was reported twice to security via telephone and once, directly, to the front desk, nothing was done. Evidently the staff and management at The Crane condone the use of marijuana even though it is illegal in Barbados. While the staff at the resort were pleasant I would not, in any way, recommend this resort to anyone and will definitely, in future, stay at the Sandals resort on the island where the illegal drug policy is both stipulated in the in room literature and enforced. I have reported all of this to a relative who works in the tourism industry on the island in the hopes that she, in conjunction with this review, can steer people clear of this once beautiful resort.
Hotel is beautiful, we really enjoyed our stay at the Crane Hotel and it's been our 4th time! We love the views, the rooms are gorgeous with a homey feel to them and the facilities are wonderful! The food at zen is amazing and their deep fried ice cream is to die for!!! I love this hotel, i love the breeze from the sea and we would be back again next year I am sure!!!!
The grounds of this resort are amazing. The suite was spacious, comfortable and elegantly decorated. The kitchen was well stocked and service was impecable. Our private pool was delightful and the panoramic views were postcard beautiful. The beach area could have been cleared of the excessive daily debri accumulation. The restaurants were a bit pricy for their fares but the food was generally good. Specially, L'azure, their food was superb. Our only objection is that the resort is really in need of a little TLC. The structures are grand, but old. The common areas and elevators are a bit neglected. But, because of it's overall beauty, attentive and friendly staff, we are willing to overlook this and plan on going back. We really loved this place.
