It is a fabulous resort with every upgrade you can hope for. We have been staying here for years....it's wonderful in every way. Shopping in the Crane Village, nice restaurant choices , a grocery store for incidentals and come cooking if you so desire. Friendly staff, beautiful ocean views from most buildings....4 or 5 pools, a beautiful beach...it is a complete package.Comment of M. Ron , United States the 2016-08-06
"Here right now"
Water didn’t work. No shower pressure. Air conditioning isn’t really cooling. Place has great potential but it’s not particularly clean and they’re not particularly good about service as other reviews have mentioned. Went into the office at 6am and two of the three people in the office were sleeping. So, nobody can fix my toilet. Nobody cares about my shower until 9:30 and coffee' No coffee on the whole property until 7:30' This is a big place - although it seems pretty empty. But no coffee until 7:30' Hey. Here’s an idea - how about instead of sleeping in the office - you cross train those people on how to make coffee'
"Beware of the air conditioning!!!"
First off, this is a really nice resort - or has the potential to be. We booked a 2 bedroom suite with a 28' pool. The room was gorgeous, the pool was great, especially for our two kids. However, the "air conditioning" did not cool the room. Turns out, it's really an "air chiller". Either way, it didn't work. We called everyday we were there, sometimes multiple times per day, and all they said was they would call engineering. While we were in the room during the day, we opened up the doors and windows to let the breeze in, which was okay. But at night we closed it up - between the mosquitos and the security issue of leaving our 1st floor room wide open - we decided to close it up and hope for the best with the "air chillers". Everyone is different - for us, sleeping in extremely hot hotel rooms is miserable. Had I known that this was an issue, I would have booked somewhere else. We go on vacation at 4-5 star resorts to relax and enjoy, not to badger hotel front desk people about fixing AC issues (we had to stay on top of them......finally on the last day we received a portable AC unit). The rest of the resort was great. We dined at all three restaurants, ate lunch everyday at the one by the pool. The spa was great as well, and the staff is very friendly. We met several other guests that also were having issues with the air conditioning in their rooms, one of which was getting married at the resort. It seemed to be a widespread issue. I really hope management fixes this issue. If and when they do, I would consider coming back.
"30th Birthday "
For my 30th birthday my fiance and I went to Barbados in November and stayed at The Crane Resort. Rooms were spectacular and the private beach. This resort is perfect if you want to relax and stay on the resort for most of your trip. There are many restaurants and bar and the resort has activities daily. Congeirege is on site to plan excursions and male dinner reservations! Food was great we had the Italian restaurant and carribean. We only stayed 3 days which is definitely not enough time we are even thinking to come back and have our honeymoon here! The tourism part seems to be Bridgetown so you can just take a cab there and they have a day trip you can take a shuttle for a day to go shopping. Barbados exchange rate is half of USD and drinks were reasonable prcies and there was many happy hours. Resort even hosted a cocktail party for guests with free drinks. We did the submarine tour and cave for excursions which were awesome! I recommend this resort it was awesome and I will visit again in near future!
"The lap of luxury"
Me and my boyfriend have just returned from our first stay at the crane hotel .. what can I say .. absolutely AMAZING the service in this hotel is next to none ! The staff cannot help you enough and go out of their way to assist. The rooms are spotless and housekeeping do an amazing job of cleaning the rooms every day. The vibe is relaxed and luxurious. Location is great ! Pictures on the website don't do it justice our room looked SO much better in person and it was huge ! Would definitely stay again! Shout out to our amazing waitress in 1887 bar who delivers service with a smile every night 😄 Thank you amazing holiday
"Worst customer service ever"
We decided to visit Crane Bay resort for lunch and a drink, whilst exploring the South East of the island The scale and setting of the place is fantastic, although I felt I was in an episode of The Prisoner(gives my age away a bit) Without exception, we never got a friendly greeting or even a smile from any member of staff No one seemed to know where we could get lunch and we eventually found The Carriage House. The service was non existent and, when we eventually got a menu, we were told we would have to wait quite a while We asked for a drinks menu, which we never got, and after waiting half an hour without any attention we walked out and will not be going back Throughout this process we never got a smile from anyone This is an expensive resort but has a major need for more, better quality staff with good training in customer service
