Just 20 kilometres west of the main island town of Kuah, The Datai Langkawi is a 35-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport, which is served by Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Firefly, Malindo Air, SilkAir and Tigerair among other carriers. Daily flights connect Langkawi with Kuala Lumpur (one hour), Penang and Singapore (95 minutes). Departure points for visitors who opt to travel by boat or ferry to Langkawi are Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah and Georgetown. Guests from Thailand may also depart via ferry from Satun or Koh Lipe.
