Service The Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila is considered luxury, I expected more from the hotel in Thailand. The service was good. They were very accommodating with some questions I had prior to our visit. The room Dirty and old. I could see hand prints on the wall above our bed. The air conditioner vent was so filthy! Lobby Far from guest rooms. The smell was overpowering. The smell of the hotel changes with every step you make. I loved the musicians though. Reception Super helpful with a ton of questions we had, they gave us shopping tips and maps.
"A sad demise of a once great hotel."
We have returnrd to this hotel after a 10 year gap touring around Singapore and Malaysia. We looked forward to returning to our favourite Bangkok hotel. Sadly over the years the hotel has become tired and badly maintained. We have three rooms on the 8th floor and have been very disappointed with the quality and cleaning in a hotel that was once famous for its high standards. We booked these rooms on a deal with Expedia some 8 months before our stay and perhaps this is the reason why we have such poor standard rooms , but at a hotel of this reputation I would expect any room to be clean and well decorated. The bathroom was a disgrace with the previous guests hair in the badly chipped bath , the sealant around the bath was dirty, and applied in a manner which is best described as amateur. The same quality of maintenance was applied to the paintwork which had no care taken . The air conditioning outlet was dirty , the balcony rusted and with used matches from the prevoius guests . I would hzve liked to have hung my towel on the hook asking me to save the planet but the hook will not support the towel weight ... how can a chambermaid put a sign on a hook that is not properly fixed !! This is a significant disappointment as we spent four previous visits having loved this iconic Bangkok hotel, and it is sad that our fond memories fir the Dusit Thani have been tarnished so badly We have two further nights to endure but I think it is likely we will check out early Mike Kinder
"A great hotel in a great location"
Yes the hotel is 5 star and has all the normal bells and whistles but is a bit old. What I especially like is that it is close to night markets (but so is most of Bangkok) and it is right on a subway station which means I can get around and to/from the airport without factoring in unknown traffic conditions.
Good hotel that is very centrally located in Bangkok. All key markets and shopping places are very close to this hotel. The rooms are spacious and the service is decent. However the biggest challenge for Indians is the availability of vegetarian food that tastes good. Very few options were available for vegetarians in breakfast except for fruits and and corn flakes. Else the stay was comfortable
"My Visit to Dusit Thani Hotel Bangkok"
I couldn't remember the name of the staff, but both front desk staff and the Pavillion restaurant rendered me the very warm welcome with friendly and effective service manners. Their smiling faces are very impressive.
