"Close to everything great service"
This hotel has a big lobby full of flowers, walking distance to the center. We needed keys made and found a little place so cheap. The service is great and all the family (6, 2 adults and 4 kids) had the best time.
"Had a good stay early in the week so came back 3 days later. good location"
I read the reviews of the Dusit Thani being a known flagship hotel in Bangkok and that it was being demolished in April 2018 , so when I knew I was going to Bangkok. I made sure to stay here even for one night. We had good experience overall and enjoyed the stay. We had a nice welcome expected of a 5 star hotel during our first overnight stay. The orchids were nearby the desk and the smell was mesmerizing. The gentleman who checked us in was courteous and had everything ready and informed us we were upgraded as part of our reservation package. The lobby music was also perfect in its ambiance. My mom and I went to our upgraded room and was surprised to be placed in the Heritage Suite. It was a nice surprise especially I was celebrating a birthday a few days later. We were able to walk around and true to the reviews --> there is the thai old world charm with flowers, orchids, and great ambiance. Be warned - numerous tiered stairs. Not old folks friendly or handicap friendly - time for a facelift. FOOD: most of the restaurants close by 2:30 pm so we were starving at check in and find out there is barely a place to eat unless we venture out or 2 other spots. We got to the Pavillion in the lower lobby. They were about to close but the manager was able to assist us with a la carte food and serve us some quick snacks while waiting or our late lunch. LOCATION: by the BTS and the MRT so it was just right and literally 3 minutes away is silom complex for starbucks and food and mall. one minute away is a lady at the street sidewalk selling mangoes with sticky rice. We came back 3 days later because the location was good and eventhough Dusit will be demolished the beds are not old, they are still good. SPOTTY SERVICE: here and there there is spotty service, we enter and we were told there would be welcome fruits none, then later in the evening there is an orchid in the vase. There is turn down service which is typical of a 5 star hotel, but our 2nd stay we didn't get a turn down service. We came back 3 days later after our Cambodia trip looking forward to the same ease of check in and just relaxing before venturing out to Bangkok. However, due to the increased check in for a convention I suppose the front desk were rushed and harassed. I was surprised when the front desk asked me if i wanted a smoking or non smoking room, when I literally wrote it in the reservation. non smoking room in non smoking floor. then i was explaining I asked for 2 twin beds too in the room. her colleague helped her and checked the reservation and pointed out that I have a king bed reservation. sigh. I will write the same thing and also non smoking room on non smoking floor because I have asthma. I thought that was not so 5 star. Fine. I went down again later and talked to someone else and the reservation package discount attributed to our hotel stay was finally given to us. This 2nd checkin experience was night and day from my first overnight stay. So spotty service. disappointing for a 5 star hotel.
"Beautiful hotel, very zentral in Bangkok."
Such a lovely place, and sadly it will not exist for very long, as they will tear it down and build a new hotel.... We stayed here 4 years back and it was a exclusive hotel, appealing to Business and more "quiet" guest... Now, it has become a hotel full of Mainland Chinese, and especially at the Breakfast it gets a nightmare...It is over crowded with chinese, who are loud and behave like "the third world war was breaking out tomorrow". They fill the plates like they had to feed 20 persons, and break any que that might be to get in front. We saw some drink the milk in the small milk pots on the table, that are normally for koffee and tea, so we had to tell the staff to take them out and not just fill them again for the next guest. But, yes we do find it a beautiful and very convenient Hotel.
"Nice Hotel at a convenient place"
W have stayed on Club Floor. Room was very smelly when we stepped in and it was rectified by Housekeeping Staff. Sink gully was blocked when we checked in and it was rectified soon once we have informed. Club Lounge was good but would love to see more variety of drinks. No sweet wines are available. At least one sweet wine should be served both white and Red. But non were available. Breakfast was good but the area is too crowded and tables are too close to each other. Food was good. The pool is good. Gym is nice and with lots of machines. I love it. Could add more room amenities as it's not upto 5 Star Standard. Overall, the Hotel is very nice and very convenient.
"A luxurious hotel with Thai old world charm"
This was my fourth trip to Bangkok and I had promised myself a stay at Dusit Thani hotel at some point - it has discreet charm and wonderful service - fantastic breakfast buffet which I absolutely recommend - whatever you are used to for your first meal of the day they absolutely will have it. Also, the lobby bar is great - try the Thaijito if you are a rum drinker - lemongrass and ginger!
