"Very good centrally located hotel"
Stayed for 5 nights in Iron Gate Siute, both me and my husband loved it! Perfect location - about 50 meters to the Old square, many restaurants and shops around, short walk to everything else and to 2 metro stations. Large room on 2 levels: hall and bedroom. Very quiet! Excellent breakfast incl. hot soup, selection of cheeses and fruits, every day another dessert. Recommended hotel for couples, no doubt
"Generally nice stay and would come again"
Generally the stay was really nice and I think I would stay here if in Prague again. The reception was 24/7 which was very useful, especially as our train was delayed and we arrived late. The porter took my bag, but not my boyfriends; I don't need help or, if you insist, why not help both of us' Either way, he was helpful, showed us our room and told us of any amenities offered. The room was amazing for the price. It was so spacious and the detail on the beams was beautiful. Large bed, desk, wardrobe, sofa, coffee table, drink making facilities, which is great to have and something often overlooked in mainland Europe. Bathroom was also very large and spacious but had an odd smell to it, not quite damp, but wasn't that pleasant. The shower head was also nonadjustable, I'm only 5ft4 and it was fine for me but anyone taller might've had problems. The usual signs were up about only putting your towels for laundry if you needed to, but they replaced them every day anyway even though we hung them up - we do not need a new towel every day, I don't do that at home and don't need it on holiday, it's a waste, practice what you preach. I realised on the last day too when packing, the cleaning staff must've thrown away all my plastic bags! I had several e.g. for shoes or stuff that might leak and they were no where to be seen. I don't get why you'd throw them out and it was a huge inconvenience, especially as now you need to pay for them. Lastly, breakfast was good and had a lot to offer - cereals, fruits, yoghurt, cakes/pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage. A lot of selection and was great to feast on before a long day of sight seeing. One small gripe is that there was no proper juice, only squash, and you had to pay extra if you wanted actual fruit juice. The cooked breakfast options were also sometimes cold e.g. bacon, eggs. Although tasty, it wasn't that pleasant when cold. The breakfast staff were also either inattentive or too attentive. The buffet is actually in a small room behind the kitchen area, however, it's not obvious and you're unlikely to go poking around in the kitchen. On the first day we sat down, tried to make eye contact with the waitress a few times and she never came over. We sat maybe for 5 minutes wondering if they were going to come and take our order when, eventually, I presume the manager came in and told us where the buffet was. The waitress looked young but surely if guests come in for the first time you'd tell them where they're meant to go' Other times staff were hovering around to take your plate as soon as you've eaten the last bite. Although a few things which did let them down a bit, generally a very comfortable stay and although we looked out onto the road there was hardly any noise and I slept amazingly all week.
"Beautiful stay in Prague"
We stayed in an Iron Gate suite, which was extremly spacious and beautifully decorated. I loved the huge windows and comfortable bed (some may find the mattress a little hard). Good breakfast; friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely choose this hotel for our next visit to Prague.
A really nice hotel situated centrally in old town. Short walking distance to the old town square. We had a superior room and it was very nice. Good space, clean and tidy. Reception was helpfull and we are very satisfied with our stay.
"It's worth the extra money and stay in the Tower Suite"
First the service is great. They ordered a car to pick me up at the train station (at my request). He was waiting and it was super easy. The front desk had us checked in really fast. Now, the best part. The Room - The Tower Suite. You walk into your foyer, then up a flight of stairs to your "main" floor. Go Left and you have your sitting / dining room. Off of this room is deck / patio. Great place to have a cocktail and a cigar and you don't hear the crazy noises from the street below. Go right and you have your bed room. Go straight and you have your closet and dressing room, then keep going into the bathroom with the heated towel rack and dual person jacuzzi. Then you go up another flight of stairs to your TV sitting room, THEN you go up another flight for another sitting room. Then there is the restaurant - OMG - Venison, Wild Boar it's ALL amazing~!
