Words escape me. This was simply the most magical, romantic place to spend the last few days of our vacation. The island is secluded and intimate. It allows you to merge with nature in every way and yet offers all the luxuries you may need or are used to. You arrive at the resort (they call is a lodge) by a boat and are transported to your room which is a combination of a tree house and a tent. Gorgeous views over the Zambezi river, the rooms are very well appointed with electric blankets to keep you warm at night. Each and every member of the staff, including management and locals who stop by to greet you are hospitable and there to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. The food at the lodge is as close to fine dining as you can get being so remote. Each meal is a memorable experience. Visiting the Victoria falls which is 40 minutes away was a highlight. They are magnificent and the reason for our visit. However the Islands of Siankaba are equally wonderful. Finally the thing that stayed with us the most was the way the staff spoke about the owner Mr. Taylor. They spoke of him with affection, regard and gratitude for all he does for them, the village and the lodge. It was wonderful to hear of a caring businessman and his kindness is clearly reflected in the lodge and the staff. Can't wait to return to the Islands of Siankaba ! 👌
"Unique luxury with amazing staff."
A unique location with stunning views over the Zambezi. The food is fantastic and the staff are friendly & experienced & make you feel extremely special, as they seem to really care about their guests. Watching the spectacular sun sets on a boat in the middle of the river, or listening to the sounds of the water & the hippos as you drift off to sleep in your luxurious room, is a perfect way to relax. A visit to the village with a member of staff, will show you a completely different way of life. Sydney explained how his community works, the traditions, & how life is changing, with a pride & understanding that can only be shown by someone who actually lives there. He also demonstrated his expert knowledge & love of the flora & fauna on the islands, on nature & bird watching walks. Thank you to everyone for making us to feel so special & relaxed.
This was the perfect trip! I arrived feeling stressed and over tired! The staff at the Islands look after every need! Humphrey is knowledge and caring, Adorable is the perfect bar man and Brighton humoured me when all I caught was grass. The perfect weekend of rest and relaxation. The room was comfortable and well appointed with a view of the passing Zambezi. If anything I was over fed and over pampered. The spa although small is adequate for this lodge. I will be back.
"The ultimate luxury and tranquility..."
Set on a series of small idyllic islands in that prince of African rivers The Zambezi, are seven luxurious lodges each perfectly designed to fill your heart and mind with the peace and tranquillity of this hidden paradise. But the wows don't stop there. Your unique experience includes romantic river cruises, nature walks and my personal favourite.. sundowners on an island of sugar white sand listening to the hippos saying goodnight! Expertly prepared food and staff so friendly and so experienced at making you feel amazing make The Islands of Siankaba a unique experience. If you need to detox just stand on your own balcony looking over the river, breath in and breath out and let Siankaba do the rest! Thank you to Ryan, Eunice, Sydney and the rest of the amazing team for making our experience so special.
We spent a stunning long weekend at the lodge. The staff were very friendly and efficient! The food was great and the views even better! The real gem are the people who seem to genuinly like entertaining the guests.
