I had a great visit. I had stayed there for an extended time, and didn't really come away with to many negative thoughts. The only true complaint that I had was that the room didn't get cold enough for me. The front desk was kind enough to move me into another room to try to help me out, which did help a little because of the location. I was a little disappointed that the second room had no bathtub. However, outside of that, it was a great experience. The rooms, lobby, and bathroom were nice. I didn't experience any noise with the traffic from the main road, nor the interstate. I did want to express that Donna Romero was absolutely fantastic. The few times that I did go to the desk, she seemingly was always there. She was able to recommend a few good places that delivered, since I was always coming in late, helped me on the relocation, and never once wasn't smiling and able to make me laugh after long days. She was also very knowledgeable about where to walk to for different experiences, I did end up leaning on her quite a bit since it was my first time in LA.
"Decent hotel Downtown DTLA"
My wife and I had a comfortable stay. The staff is very well trained and professional. The food at the bar is above par at fair prices, especially for this type of hotel. We never had to wait very long for any type of service. Taxis, luggage, check in and out were a breeze, if not a pleasure. I definitely would stay here again.
"Hotel needs upgrade"
The hotel was hard to find for Uber, taxi drivers and restaurants that delivered. After a long day at a conference I just want to take a shower, eat dinner and relax. The noise from the highway makes that impossible (you wake up to it and go to sleep to it.) One evening I had ordered food from a restaurant and they did not place any condiments in the bag. I go down to the restaurant and ask the lady up front for ketchup. She was talking to another lady that worked there so she appeared annoyed that I had politely said excuse me. She walks up closer to me and says "Are you gonna pay for it'" Shocked by her attitude I respond, "if I have too, I will." She walks away talks to a manager points at me then goes back to the kitchen and hands me two packets of ketchup. I was so surprised by her attitude over ketchup that I said thank you and went back upstairs. A few days later I decide to go to the pool. Guess who is swimming in the pool, a pinky (a baby mouse.) Trying to get someone to help is a nightmare. So I grabbed the net, pulled the mouse out and place him near a bush in there grass area. Hard to believe so photos are attached. The rooms are nice but worn down. The nicest thing is the lobby. The bathroom titles need help as they are chipping and old. Housekeeping is great! Would not stay again.
The lobby is nice. The staff is very nice, but under-trained: when I checked in, the concierge answered the phone mid check-in (when I still had questions) and pointed me towards the elevator (he thought I was done, whoops!). Over the phone a few days later, another staff member had trouble emailing me a receipt. The bartender was on the slower side. The pancakes were $15... and rubbery. I got an overall impression of fake luxury from this place -- a lot of veneer, and nothing beneath it.
"work trip for one night"
very nice hotel. lots of space. good bar/restaurant. nice rooms. nice staff. friendly and helpful. One complaint, the business center. Its located in the Hertz rental office so you cant tell its there. Plus, if you're trying to owrk, you get distracted by the Hertz employees talking to customers and amongst themselves. They charge a lot for internet access and printing things.
