The Michelangelo Hotel rises in one of New York's unbeatable locations, a few steps from Times Square, the Theatre District, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Centre, Fifth Avenue and Central Park.
Excellent hotel. Executive King room was lovely. All staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was very nice. Location for us was brilliant. Right near Times Square, lots of places in nearby walking distance. Located round the corner from a hop on bus stop for the longer trips. Would highly recommend and stay again.Comment of B. Excellent location for Theatres, shopping, Central Park and museums. Enjoyed the 'light bites'.Comment of B. Richard , United Kingdom the 2014-11-18
For the temperature outside being in the low 30s we had to use the AC to cool the room. Other than that small issue the hotel was absolutely wonderful! We will return on future trips to NYC!Comment of E. Lauren , United States the 2014-11-05

A welcoming and efficient staff. Quick to respond to any request. A great location on the edge of the theater district. Great selection and range of restaurants in easy walking distance of hotel whether you want a diversity of street food, delicatessen, or upscale dining experience. A quiet oasis in the midst of all the New York noise and action.Comment of L. Maury , United States the 2014-09-12
"Very comfortable location in the heart of Times Square"
If you are looking for classy and comfortable accommodations within the Times Square area, this hotel is a terrific choice. The Great Parts -- one-bedroom suite that was spacious for a NYC room, elegant décor and extremely clean. Nice-sized umbrellas in room closet in case it rains. Pleasant staff at check-in and check-out. Nice lobby area and location is ideal if you are interested in staying in the Broadway area. However, falls short of a 5-star rating for me due to: 1) no 24-hour in-room dining -- stops for a time in the afternoon and then ends for the night at 11:30 pm so if you get in from a late night and want a light meal, pot of coffee or tea you are out of luck; 2) No coffee/tea station in the room - at check-out, front desk said they could have one put into the room if requested but didn't know that at check-in and certainly not offered as an option when I called down at 11:50 pm to see if there was any in-house option to get just some tea or coffee. Suggestion to Management -- while it is a lovely foyer entrance to the suite we stayed in, it was nearly the size of the living room and seemed some wasted, valuable space. Limited space along one wall could easily accommodate a small wet-bar area with a refrigerator, coffee station and microwave. It would make the whole room more family-friendly; 3) The double-sided armoire is a lovely concept except that living room TV sound competes completely with the bedroom TV sound. Some sort of sound-muting material should be placed into armoire between the two TVs to facilitate watching two different shows in each room.
Loved the hotel. The rooms and service were great. The beds and pillows were amazing. HOWEVER, after paying $500 a night AND a $38 "resort fee", it was wrong that if we wanted a cup of coffee in the morning, we had to go downstairs and pay $5 for a small cup of below average coffee.
We had three rooms. One for grandparents (me and wife), and adjoining rooms for Daughter and two grand teenagers, all on same floor. reservation manager and remainder staff are helpful Worked well for us.
"The Grand Dame"
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to read 5 Star ratings. What is the point of going over pure superlatives' We want to discover what may NOT work, right' This is why you are reading this evaluation here. I gave it 3 stars (instead of 5) thinking that I’ll find enough problems to justify it. But our bathroom was big, beautiful, well equipped and even the drain worked well. This beautiful hotel was built well, so you don’t hear the guest next door or the party downstairs. It’s: • Comfy • With a touch of Italy • Family oriented • Caring service is spoiling I travel all over the world and stay at good to excellent hotels. The Michelangelo fits well within this category. I highly recommend!
"Great space, location and comfort for longer stay"
My wife and I stayed at here for 7 nights. It is in a great location, being right on times square while also being able to head out via several different subway stops to explore NYC. The room size was great for a week in NYC. We had four suitcases that we were living out of and it was roomy enough to have them available and still be comfortable. The stay included free wifi and phone calls including international, much appreciated. The only concern is the varied levels of service. Housekeeping and the front desk were great, however I found the bar staff a little cold (in fact we didnt go back after our first night), and the doorman often just watched as struggled with bags down the 3 or so steps at the entrance. I would still stay again as the location and value was exceptional.
