The Michelangelo Hotel rises in one of New York's unbeatable locations, a few steps from Times Square, the Theatre District, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Centre, Fifth Avenue and Central Park.
Excellent hotel. Executive King room was lovely. All staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was very nice. Location for us was brilliant. Right near Times Square, lots of places in nearby walking distance. Located round the corner from a hop on bus stop for the longer trips. Would highly recommend and stay again.Comment of B. Excellent location for Theatres, shopping, Central Park and museums. Enjoyed the 'light bites'.Comment of B. Richard , United Kingdom the 2014-11-18
For the temperature outside being in the low 30s we had to use the AC to cool the room. Other than that small issue the hotel was absolutely wonderful! We will return on future trips to NYC!Comment of E. Lauren , United States the 2014-11-05
Great location, lovely large rooms, good service!Comment of K. Adam , United Kingdom the 2014-10-28
A welcoming and efficient staff. Quick to respond to any request. A great location on the edge of the theater district. Great selection and range of restaurants in easy walking distance of hotel whether you want a diversity of street food, delicatessen, or upscale dining experience. A quiet oasis in the midst of all the New York noise and action.Comment of L. Maury , United States the 2014-09-12
"Comfortable rooms, good location, but lacking its former hospitality"
The location of this hotel speaks for itself; the lobby is attractive, the rooms clean, the bathrooms particularly comfortable with their generous bathtubs. Having been a regular visitor to this hotel for many years, though, I miss the old Michelangelo's attention to the needs of busy people in the city. The self-service continental breakfast, once included in the price of the room, was a great convenience that I miss. The "facilities fee" (renamed "residence fee" in more recent notices) now tacked onto each bill has taken its place! This appeared only in the small print of my original reservation, and I'm glad I read it before arriving at the hotel so that I could digest this unpleasant surprise in private. If not warned when making the reservation, be aware of this additional charge. (Wouldn't it make sense to include that fee in the room charge, since it is not optional') Each room used to have a card listing services available from housekeeping, and upon arrival one was offered a choice of newspapers, to be left outside the door of the room. Now one needs to make special requests to receive the turn-down service or a newspaper. Be sure to ask for these if you want them, they are still available, even if not advertised! I hope these tips help visitors to this hotel make the most of its services, even as it shifts its attention away from the comfort of guests. Except for the front desk, the service at the hotel is still excellent. Those in charge should take an example from the housekeeping staff and doormen!
"Love the hotel and the location"
W loved the hotel and the location as it is walking distance to so many places. W had a wonderful time and we can't wait to come back again. The hotel staff is fabulous and so very friendly, just like family. They are always asking what they can do for you.
"Class in New York, Done with Style"
The Michelangelo Hotel is a real treat in New York. The location is excellent. The staff is professional and so willing to go out of the way, The rooms are large and the bathrooms are too!!! It is a lovely quiet hotel with style and class in the heart of a bust city
We stayed here for my 40th birthday and absolutely nothing was too much trouble , first they upgraded us for my birthday then on my birthday they had a bottle of prosecco sent up to our room and on check out day they allowed us to check out at 3pm instead of the normal 12pm at no extra cost !!! The man who did all of this for us was called Joseph and he really is top notch , thank you Joseph for making our time here so special . The hotel itself is beautiful and almost timeless and the rooms are exceptionally clean and very comfortable with bags of room . The distance away from Times Square was perfect (about 5 mins walk) and it's also right on top of broadway which was great when we went to see a show .
"Texans go to the big apple"
Our 20th wedding anniversary, surprise getaway to New York. Hotel was cozy and comfy. Staff was inviting and friendly! Central location to many tourist attractions. Right down the street from Ellen's Stardust restaurant, the short-stack is delicious.
