Another lovely stay at The Midland. We always try to get a room here when going to the theatre. Room v comfortable and like that there is a fridge for own drinks. Love the new lounge area- very busy but managed to get a booth. Looking forward to returning in the new year.
"Good Hotel - excellent staff"
Check in efficient and friendly - my husband enquired if the room we had been allocated had a good view' We were told it did. Unfortunately on entering the room it was obvious it was very dark and faced an inner courtyard. We asked to change and the service was very prompt - we were given a much bigger room with two double beds and a nicer (side)aspect. Very clean comfortable beds. Surprised that the complimentary water was not given each day of our stay as one small bottle is not enough for a few days stay. Breakfast was lovely first day but after that the Hotel had a big conference so breakfast was crowded and to get from lifts to restaurant for breakfast was difficult due to delegates for the conference checking in. Very good location near to many restaurant cafes and of course Albert Square ( christmas markets there were great) and my husband enjoyed the leisure facilities and bar. Would stay there again as it is a lovely old hotel with excellent staff. I think a room facing out would be best so next time we know what to request
"Enjoyable Weekend Break"
We recently visited Manchester for a weekend break and stayed at the Midland Hotel. Everything about our stay was first class, the wonderful building, the lovely food and the extremely helpful and friendly staff. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice relaxing break in a quality hotel.
"Great English Traditional Hotel"
Deserve 5 star rating but gave 4...only because the air con in the room was very noisy and not befitting a grand hotel like this. Other than this, couldn't find any flaw. From a courteous and attentive check-in by Lauren, who very kindly upgraded me to a larger room as my original requested was not available, to the doorman and the concierge, from the bar attendants to the dinning rooms staff, especially Elizabeth at breakfast serving; all just great. Clean and English grandeur all around the hotel. Very centrally located to trams, shopping and other restaurants and eateries all within 5 to 10 minutes walk, including Tesco and Sainsbury. As per the season, the famous Manchester market was just across the road and I wish I had more time to spend in #ILoveManchester
I stayed here for Valentine's Day my partner surprised me with it. Hotel is nice, clean room. Just very basic was expecting it to be more luxurious. Maybe the suites are more special. The building and entrance is beautiful.
