Stayed for two days the hotel is amazing and I did a spa treatment which was really nice the service is good and I was blown away that one of the house keeping staff even cleaned my hair brush and left a little note for me. Highly recommend this hotel for business or leisure.
We had an amazing stay at the Oberoi Gurgaon with my Family. From check in to check out the staff cannot do enough for you & are so lovely. The restaurants are charming too, really delicious food. Mostly I enjoyed the grounds of the hotel, the 25m swiming pool, the wine cellar, and of course the near situation from/to the Airport. Summarizing, perfect management, delightful personnel, professional service and the best quality. I fully recommended this Hotel!
Absolute stunning property with prime access to location from NH 8. Marvelous ambience and magnificent rooms ! Some rooms with private swimming pools too. absolute stunning place. The food from three sixty degree was also very yummy !
"Where nothing is too much!"
We received an exclusive offer from The Oberoi Hotels for use at one of their select properties as it was my partner’s birthday month. Our friends threw him an outstanding birthday party on the day of his birthday and so we decided to use the weekend of Friday July 14, 2017 to utilise the offer at The Oberoi, Gurgaon. RESERVATION & PRE-ARRIVAL SERVICE The reservation team was efficient, as is expected of The Oberoi Hotels. However, one of the things that set The Oberoi Hotels apart is their spirit of generosity; a request for a complimentary Airport Transfer to be changed to a Transfer to our residence which was a further 7km from the airport was gladly accepted by the hotel as an email response within a few minutes. During a later re-confirmation call, I mentioned to the lady who contacted me about how I was unwell and wasn’t unable to do much for my partner’s birthday. She assured me that she would try her best to make it a memorable experience. QUALITY OF SERVICE On the day of arrival I was contacted by the hotel to inquire about our specific arrival timings and to reconfirm our room type and smoking preference. The first query however, was “Mr. Nair, I hope you are feeling much better and I hope you are recovering well.” Who remembers a casual statement like that' You do that with close friends, colleagues and family. The Oberoi, Gurgaon had already created a sense of “belongingness”. As I proceeded to collect my partner from work before we headed off to the hotel, I wanted the hotel to make sure that my gift for my partner was presented to him after our arrival. Mr. Alok, from the team at The Concierge not just did that, but ensured that our arrival experience was facilitated seamlessly with his colleague Abhishek who is possibly one of the least interfering Front Office Team members that I have ever met. We were surprisingly upgraded from the room category that we paid for, Abhishek while informing us made the upgrade sound as a gift from the hotel rather than a favour extended to us. The butler arrived shortly thereafter to introduce himself and present us with an interesting melange of lemonade and cumin with cold towels. The Housekeeping team had present the room with a bunch of roses and the Guest Relations Team had a birthday cake ready in the room that offered belated birthday wishes to my partner. THE PREMIERE ROOM The room in itself was spotlessly clean, as is expected from an Oberoi Hotel. We were originally booked for the Deluxe Room Category and were offered the highest category of rooms – The Premiere Room with a view of the pool and a city skyline which didn’t include the monstrosities of cranes of the new DLF Offices under construction next to the hotel. At 620 square feet the room did give a sense of large size, but at the same time it offered a certain level of, shall I put it as, ‘coziness’' The bathroom is fitted with a standalone bathtub and a large shower area equipped with a rain-shower and maintained, exquisitely. The double wash basins are a huge blessing and time saver. The WC however might be a tad bit too low for certain patrons. The hygiene faucet next to the WC is a huge embarrassment avoider, especially for Indians and comes with a re-assuring ‘Sanitised’ tag after every service. If I have to pick on a fault, the only thing is the lack of a place to hang face towels, this however seems to be a design flaw in most five star hotels in India. The room had undergone turndown service prior to our arrival with the lighting set at a comfortable level and water glasses and mineral water bottles ready. Bed mats laid out with The Oberoi slippers were just what my sore feet needed. The minibar was well-stocked and the tea and coffee selection met expectations. The surprise however was the tea selection. A well curated selection of Makaibari Darjeeling Teas was on offer and I chose the ‘Revitalization’ tea, which with a dash of sugar was just exquisite. QUALITY OF HOUSEKEEPING: The Oberoi Hotels are known for the impeccable and uncompromising housekeeping and hygiene standards. The room was maintained very well and spotlessly clean. However, once again where they exceeded my expectations was in the case of the service. My partner and I usually carry our own toiletries and a packet of our medicines along, which we generally tend to arrange at places of our convenience. After service on the second day, we were pleased to notice that all items were placed exactly where they were after service but over a set of napkins at exactly the same place. I had placed a Srimad Bhagavad Gita next to my bedside as I read a chapter before I go to bed every day. I had it placed atop my personal red bag in which I carry it with a Five Rupee Coin in it. On return I was very touched to notice that the Gita was placed in a beautiful tray with the cloth bag under it and the coin facing the Gita. Nothing touches me more powerfully than the respect extended to my personal faith and I can’t thank the Housekeeping team enough for extending that courtesy to my faith. We were away at The Spa while the housekeeping service was on and exceeding our expectations our telephone screens, iPad and Spectacles were cleaned spotlessly and a cleaning material left by for our laptop which we left closed. Anticipatory service is the exception at most hotels, at The Oberoi Gurgaon, we felt anticipatory service was the lowest benchmark. QUALITY OF CUISINE We ordered our dinner on the first night through in-room dining and my partner thought that his pepperoni pizza was excellent. I am presently on a low-potassium diet and requested for the tomato to be removed from the accompanying salsa for my Grilled Chicken Breast. While I am of the opinion that Chicken Breast in itself could be improved, the salsa in itself was splendid and added much character and depth to the meat. The accompanying greens were cooked to perfection. As is the way at The Oberoi Hotels, I was clearly advised by our server Mehar to not eat particular bread-roll as it contained tomatoes, they had a separate bread roll set for me. The breakfast service was excellent and the staff not too intrusive, using our names just twice during the conversation and not bothering us two seconds after reading the menu. Black coffee served wasn’t the instant Americano version and my partner received a poached egg in India for the very first time that cut itself out smoothly with the yolk flowing through. As a Malayali, my South Indian taste buds were subject to a treat with idlis and medu vadas. As I picked up two idlis, the lady at the counter picked up a Rava Idli and said, ‘this one is because your mother would insist you eat one’. The gingelly oil and gun-powder were mixed in the right quantities. The patisserie selection was not too large but had enough variety to choose from and was of excellent quality. The croissants were light and airy ‘as a cloud would be’. The fresh fruit juices were excellent and contained no added sugar. On the second day for breakfast we decided to be creatures of habit and stick to the tried and tested breakfast options. The poached eggs on toasted brown bread were perfect yet again with the golden yolk flowing out and the accompanying bacon was of excellent quality. My partner agrees that probably it is the best offering of poached egg and bacon at any five-star hotel in India and he stays with quite a few of them quite often and has had to send back quite a few poached eggs. My South Indian breakfast of idlis and medu vadas were today joined by an uthappam. The quality of the Sambhar blew my mind today and I was thrilled that a South Indian filter coffee was offered to me. I expected it to come in a cup and saucer as it usually does in most five star hotels in India, except in South India. The Oberoi, New Delhi served me the filter coffee the way it should be served, with the heady coffee in a steel tumbler placed in a flat base for cooling. You can always scald your fingers while picking the hot steel tumbler up and so the little napkin to hold onto the coffee tumbler was a thoughtful addition. The coffee was just what South Indian filter coffee should be, a heady concoction of ground South Indian coffee decoction with boiled and frothed milk. A grandmother from Udupi would approve! As we finished our lunch with a selection from the boulangerie and organic fruit juices, Ayush from the team offered us reservations for The Sunday Brunch at 13:00hrs. For the Sundy afternoon, we opted to spend it leisurely in true Delhi Style at the Sunday Brunch of the hotel featuring Moet Champagne that afternoon. The staff are eager to please and continuously offered suggestions, until we had to tell them that we liked to be left to our devices and enjoy grazing the buffet ourselves. There wasn’t any botheration post that. The buffet has quite a variety, but we felt the Asian and Japanese options remained quite a large part of their focus. However, we had a delectable meal and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. We shared feedback about not getting our preferred seat at Brunch which was promised to us during breakfast time. The management team responded immediately and listened to our feedback and appreciated it in the most professional manner. There were no condescending explanations and the manager who spoke to us seemed genuinely concerned about the break down in service guarantee. SPA EXPERIENCE The Oberoi, Gurgaon operates a day spa under ‘The Oberoi Spa’ brand and handles the services very well. We were not able to connect to the Spa the first instance we contacted them, but promptly received a call back at the assured time. My partner and I both chose the Aroma Therapy massage for 60minutes priced at INR 6,000/- (which is high by Indian standards, but then this is The Oberoi). My therapist was extremely professional and carried out the therapy extremely well caring for my specific requirements. I finished off my treatment with 15 minutes of Steam and a further 15 minutes to shower and change and returned to the Spa Reception to enjoy my cup of peppermint tea. The team at The Spa delivered a true Oberoi Experience as expected. DEPARTURE EXPERIENCE: The Butlers team responded promptly to our request to pack a fragile item in bubble wrap and was done in the safest manner possible. We contacted Baggage Services who arrived within a few minutes of our call to collect the luggage and before leaving reminded us to check all our draws, cabinets and electronic safe. They did take a look at the wardrobe and bathroom area themselves to make sure we hadn’t left anything behind. Abhishek from the Front Desk team was already waiting for us with our bills ready and the checkout process was carried out efficiently and quickly. We were escorted out to the Porte Cochere to our waiting complimentary drop off and luggage was once again verified and placed in the vehicle. The complimentary drop off was organised in a brand new BMW Sedan which featured Wi-fi and was maintained very well both inside and outside. The chauffeur was familiar with the location and dropped us off to our residence without much delay. FINAL VERDICT: Thumbs up to this hotel that truly lives up to the quality of 5-Star. In addition to a superior product, the true asset of The Oberoi, Gurgaon is the excellent staff. The hotel is definitely one on the expensive side, but we do feel that the money spent was worth it.
"Luxury Escapes Tour"
We visited the Oberoi Gurgaon as the first stop in a 2 week Luxury Escapes tour. What a place to start. The staff were attentive and diligent, and the quality of the hotel is superb. We had a fabulous 3 nights there. Well done Mr Oberoi.
