"Awful service! Don't waste your time or money on this hotel."
Let's start by saying this hotel can have a lot of potential only if it was managed by staff that is competent, friendly and properly trained in customer service. This place is not! - Check in: The guy at the check in tried to convince me that he is upgrading us to a better room than we booked, only later did I find out he put us in a less expensive room. When I raised this at the front desk the next day, they tried to convince me otherwise. - Pool- We tried the pool at the resort, there was some DJ thing going on, so they wanted us to check in before noon, otherwise its $40 to get in, like seriously'!!! What are we then paying the resort fee for' Also, the guys at the entrance were so rude, told us we can't bring in our purse, and said its written on a big sign right in the front of the entrance. I told him its not written, and he said - 'mam those are the rules. I am attaching a photo of the sign, as you can see nothing saying that no bags were allowed. Even though I would let him search my bag no problem, still he gave us a lot of attitude. So then we made our way to the palms place pool, the staff there was totally relaxed and did not cause any trouble at all. Hotel directory- We asked at the front desk if they had a map of the resort, they looked at us dumbfounded and said, no we ran out. Didn't even point us in a direction of a big directory sign 5 feet away. Misleading advertisements- As others have mentioned, there is an advertisement for a lounge bar that opens at 8pm with the happy hour from 8-10pm, all over the resort. Yet, when you get there before 10pm you find it closed. Rooms- spacious with very tacky 90's "modern" feel to it. Two of the lights did not work, and the balcony railings were DISGUSTING, you could not see through the glass! THe smoke feel was in the room, and I am pretty sure people smoke in it, even though its supposed to be "non-smoking". Yet there are no signs saying you can't smoke. One morning I overheard the concierge talking to someone on the phone how there was a robbery in one of the rooms. Definitely did not make me feel safe there. Also, the clientele is 50% trashy, 50% normal, but again thats Vegas in general. So in conclusion save your time and money and stay elsewhere. And management- please do some action instead of just replying to these reviews with comments, when nothing is clearly being done and the same problems are being addressed.
"I LOVE THE Palms!!!!!!!!! "
This hotel is amazing!! My boyfriend and I are visiting the Palms in Las Vegas on Vacation. This is our first time here and we love it. The staff is super friendly. Special thanks to Matthew @ the Palms Casino. He was very helpful and informative. My boyfriend and I were completely lost, and he was extremely welcoming with a smiling face and a friendly attitude. The hotel is extremely clean inside and out. There is a food court and a movie theater inside of the hotel. Hands down the best hotel I've ever visited. I will definitely be back:)).
"Not worth the hype"
I was excited to stay at this hotel due to the great price, it was close to The Strip, and seeing it on the Real World years ago however I was disappointed. First the lady at the front desk was extremely rude and downgraded me to lesser room then I reserved. I booked through Expedia so they were able to this (I called). The manager was extremely rude as well and not accommodating at all. Our room had a A/C issue and never really got cool. The "engineer" came and pretty much just changed the filter. It didn't help at all. We decided to just suffer instead of moving hotels or fighting with management. As a military couple celebrating my partner's masters degree and traveling so far..it was so disappointing. The styling of the room was nice but the AC issue and poor customer service will keep us from ever staying again.
"Use it ti sleep there and nothing else - Terrible customer service"
Not coming from a high-demanding person, just make sure you only sleep in this hotel and that's it. Do not expect more than that. If there's anything that can be done to facilitate your stay and make it more pleasant, trust me, they will make it more difficult and inconvenient. After 2 days of terrible customer service I decided to never leave a penny at this place and continued my vacation elsewhere, using the Palms for the sleepover. It's sad because this hotel has a potential but its staff will make you want forget it as soon as possible. Several bigger examples (i won't even mention the small ones), and you decide: - there is no info about what's in the hotel (food options, pools, spa, entertainment, transportation to the strip or airport etc). I went to the registration desk to ask for a map, only to be told "ooops we're sold out, we don't have any," ... let alone the fact that there are two huge maps on both sides of the entrance doors, 5 feet away from the receptionist ... you gotta find it out on your own. - pool parties happens on Friday and Saturday (at the main hotel), if you come after 12pm, you'll have to pay $40 for a couple to get in. You can't take a bag with you ... even though it's not written anywhere, the staff will say it is on the sign - a sign that does not provide much info other than some common sense things such as "can't take a gun with you"... Let alone the fact that there is another swimming pool at the Palms Place - go figure it out on your own. - We asked a valet guy "when is the next shuttle to the strip" - he said "in 2-3 mins" with a certainty...only to wait 35 mins in the heat until it got there - the valet guy said "oooops i didn't see it when it left" (if he said "i'm sorry i really don't know" we would have taken a cab and it would have been all great) - All ads around the hotels say "ghostbar happy hour nightly 8-10pm"...then you want to go for a drink around 8:30 only to find the bar closed and a manager who says "i don't know anything about the signs or the happy hour, it's open at 10pm" ... remind you it's June, kinda high season... - when you call the receptionist to ask if it's possible to extend your stay, you get one info at night and a different one in the morning - totally normal for them just to say "oh well." Positives: spacious and clean room (Fantasy tower) - just the way it should be for this money, there's nothing fantastic about it. The shuttle driver to the strip was excellent - polite, smooth ride, and on time. Free parking. After this experience, I will never go back and I strongly suggest the management to step it up, otherwise I can see bankruptcy in their future.
"Five stars for Matthew! We heart him!"
We stay at The Palms every June a group ranging from 30-40 people. Back in 2014 we lucked upon Matthew (from Tampa) at the front desk. He took such good care of us that we return every year looking for him. Now I direct my VIP guests to seek him out as well. Not only is Matthew courteous and professional but he goes out of his way to give us the extra mile of service. So much in fact, that his presence has become a factor in returning to the hotel year after year. If I could, I'd give him 6 stars!! I have stayed at hotels around the world and he is truly the best Front Desk agent I have ever met!!! As much as we love Matthew, I’d be remiss not to mention Breanne in the groups dept who has also worked with us since 2014 and her coordinator, Peggi, who dealt with all of my emails and remained super friendly through the group updates and adjustments. Overall, we love the resort although we were disappointed that many eateries were closed due to the renovations (I would give the hotel 4 stars for this reason); but we know it's only temporary to make improvements and we're already looking forward to our trip next year!
