"Best hotel in Chicago!"
Stayed here for a night Dec 27-28. Was visiting someone that lived in Chicago and they decided on a staycation and booked the Peninsula as they believe it's the best hotel in Chicago. Stunning hotel and loved the room. Room wasn't overly large, but had a separate living room, large bathroom with separate tub (which I love), and bedroom. Each room felt cozy. All the details of the room were immaculate, they even have chargers in the nightstands, and when you come back to the room they properly wrap all your cords to be neat. We also had high tea in the main dining area which was very good! Skating rink was closed, maybe because it was too cold, but it looked cute from the window of the restaurant. Would love to come back in the summer and maybe try the spa.
"We Didn't Want to Leave"
The Peninsula Hotel is always a first choice for a stay in downtown Chicago. From the greeting when you step out of your car and they whisk away your luggage, you can be assured that you will be well cared for. The ambiance is beautiful yet relaxing and the service is there when you need it but you don't feel as if people are hovering over you. Our suite was lovely and they had thought of everything - the welcome gift and note, an oversized safe to shoe polishing service.... It's the many, small features that separate a good hotel from a great one and the Peninsula is a great hotel. The technology controls for the room were impressive. It was luxurious and relaxing to lie in the very comfortable bed and control the do not disturb feature from a tablet (among being able to control other room features). The bathtub and built-in TV on the wall beside it were a nice touch as was the buffing cloth for showers/bathing. The little comforts and attentions to detail are too numerous to list. With first class restaurants on property, divine accommodations, a gym and spa, this hotel is a destination in itself for luxury pampering.
"Celebration weekend for my mother's retirement!"
This was my first stay with the Peninsula, but definitely not my last! I treated my mother to a weekend for her retirement and they were really accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure her stay was special. It was a bit unfortunate that there was some construction going on, so I'm not sure we got the full experience of the lobby, but I will go back when construction is complete, to celebrate something else. The beds are extremely comfortable, the high tech controls easy to use, and the black out curtains are amazing! We had no idea what time it was when we woke up the next day. Checked out not even 24 hours ago and can't wait for our next stay!
"Peninsula: Always a Very Good Choice"
A regular guest at Peninsula Hotels, and the Chicago edition doesn't disappoint. Great downtown location, tremendous Peninsula-brand service, and good looking rooms and suites. Peninsula Hotels have a standard of service that's hard to beat, even by Four Seasons, another great hotel chain. There are only a handful around the world, but they always deliver. Definitely my first choice.
" Beautiful "
We spent the night at The Peninsula to enjoy downtown shopping, dinner and high tea. The staff is amazing from the minute you walk in. Every need is met. The rooms technology is unbelievable and the rooms are beautiful and quiet. Total luxury. The lobby restaurant is a great site during the holidays and high tea was excellent. Only part is the tree we learned comes down January 1 so we were sad not to have that. I wish it was kept up for the week after for people still on break to enjoy!
