The Rembrandt is perfectly positioned to explore the local area. With the V&A Museum opposite the hotel, The Natural History Museum and The Science Museum only 5 minutes away and Harrods, Harvey Nichols and other designer shops within a 10 minute walk. South Kensington tube station (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines) is only few minutes walk away making The Rembrandt the perfect base for London. From the South Kensington tube you can access all the large mainline stations, such as Paddington (trains for Heathrow), Victoria (trains for Gatwick), Charing Cross and Liverpool Street to name but a few.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel whose staff were attentive and helpful. The only minor criticisms were that the dining room wasn't open for dinner most nights, though you could get a restricted menu in the lounge bar, and that there was no butter knife on the table at breakfast, meaning you had to keep hold of the knife you'd used for your cooked breakfast. However, as we say, these were only minor irritations in what was a very enjoyable seven nights at the hotel.Comment of B. Cassandra , United Kingdom the 2015-09-02

Ideal hotel for visits to museums, Harrods and Royal Albert Hall. A short walk away from South Kensington tube station which enables easy access to anywhere in the city in a short while. Everything about the hotel was fantastic. Our visit was to see the display of poppies at the Tower which was wonderful.Comment of S. Elizabeth , United Kingdom the 2014-10-19

Fantastic experience, hotel gave an upgrade to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary, terrific room with view across to the Victoria and albert museum. Location great, hotel staff great, room great, this will be our hotel every time we come to LondonComment of B. Chris , United Kingdom the 2014-07-18
We have visited the Rembrandt several times. The hotel is well looked after and the staff friendly. The location is excellent being near museums and with tube access to the city from South Kensington on three lines. A nice addition to our room this time was a jacuzzi bath in the bathroom. The room was spotlessly clean and the cost was very reasonable.Comment of W. Nigel , United Kingdom the 2014-07-17
Ottimo il collegamento a Piccadilly Circus con il bus 14. Colazione splendida. Proprio accanto ai migliori musei.Comment of M. Massimo , Italy the 2014-07-02
We recently stayed 10 days at The Rembrandt. It was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the South Kensington tube stop and less than a block from the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History and Science Museum. Our room was always spotless, the bathroom was huge for a hotel in London: spring for the executive king room. It is completely worth it. The bath had a whirlpool tub, great shower, heated towel rack, and in-room safe. The mini-bar was well-stocked and the prices were in-line with the convince stores we passed on the street or in the tube stops. The closet needs a few more hangers, but the drawer space was more than adequate for the two of us. There is a complimentary full English breakfast with great staff and a filling meal with enough variety to keep us engaged for 10 days. We also ate in the hotel restaurant a few times after returning late from a concert or show. The service was excellent and the sandwiches in the bar area were delicious and reasonably priced. The front desk was helpful and accommodating. We arrived a couple of hours before check-in time; the hotel stored our luggage while we stretched our legs in the neighborhood. I felt very safe in the area, even as a woman alone at night. There were good restaurants near the hotel: exceptional Chinese and Thai food along with lots of snack possibilities. After a long day, it was a pleasure to come "home" to the hotel. We will definitely book this hotel on a return visit to London. We highly recommend The Rembrandt.Comment of S. "A Wonderful Location & a Reasonably Priced Hotel"
We stayed here for 5 days recently and were very pleased. The staff were helpful, the room was clean and a reasonable size (it is in central London after all) and the breakfast was very good. We loved the neighborhood. The hotel is directly across from the Victoria & Albert Museum (one of our favorites) and a short walk to to the Piccadilly line. The area has lots of restaurant choices and small shops, yet doesn't seem overrun with tourists. We would definitely come back.
"Great location, expensive for a 'so-so' hotel"
The location is fantastic - just round the corner from South Kensington tube and opposite the entrance to the V&A. Stunning. The hotel is ok, but I expect (and frequently get) better at this price for a central London hotel (£174/night on this occasion). I've rated it average because I think on balance this is what it is. The bar is quite nice, the lobby is nice and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was ok - nothing special, and the staff at breakfast were really nice, but both the coffee and the tea (pot of tea) were just not nice to drink. The room we were given was very small for two twin beds (I will try and post photos), with magnolia painted walls, a view of a fire escape, a chair that was so close to the bed it was hard to sit on. The bathroom was equally bleak, no bathrobes, and a bathroom mirror that steamed up and stayed that way so shaving for my other half was tricky. We asked for a quiet room and used the 'do not disturb' sign in the morning, but the maintenance guy was mending a door/ similar a few doors up so we were disturbed by drilling noise. The aircon is really noisy and the sounds from it vary from helpful dampening of general expected hotel noise, to 'was that heavy machinery nearby'. The housekeepers storeroom must also have been either next to us or very close so we didn't get to sleep in. So in summary, a great location, the staff were very nice, but the hotel overall and the room in particular means that I'd call it pretty average.
"Great location. A nice mid range choice"
We enjoyed this, our first stay at The Rembrandt. As others have noted, the location for a tourist cannot be beat: across from the V&A and the Natural History Museum, Harrods less than 10 minute walk away, everything from a McDonald's to umpteen mid to upscale dining choices within 5 minutes walk. The staff was pleasant but frankly not overly friendly. When we asked a question, they answered but with the exception of Neal, information was delivered gruffly. Our room was a typical European smaller size. It was well-appointed and clean. It also had A/C (not necessary when we were there) but that is NOT a given in a UK hotel, so make note if A/C is important to you-they've got it. Our room included the full breakfast and it was a big spread with hot and cold items. More than enough and you serve yourself so it is efficient. We also enjoyed the calm ambience of the bar/lounge area. They have a very nice menu with many sandwiches, small plates, a few entrees and salads. Everything we ate was delicious and it was a great place to regroup after being out in the world during the day. We will gladly return on our next trip to London.
"Great 4 star hotel in a fab location"
Very definitely a good 4 star hotel in an excellent location next to the Rembrandtplein. Unusual as there are 2 former hotels attached, The Eden and The Hampshire. Public areas are functional and not particularly inviting but reception and concierge service was very good. Executive room was spacious with good quality furnishings and a very comfortable bed. Housekeeping was disappointing in room 176 as carpet was very dirty as well as dirty handprints on the heavy curtains. Also hairs in sink and bath upon arrival and soap stains on chrome ware. We booked a city view room which is what we got - sort of. We faced a parking garage on the first floor which turned out to be extremely noisy which is fine on a Saturday night as it is to be expected in a lively City but not from deliveries and city workers moving office furniture and putting up festive lights! So beware and insist on a higher room... We enjoyed our stay though and will be back in Amsterdam again soon...
Hotel Rembrandt is a great place to stay! We loved the location, just a couple of blocks from Harrod's and the S. Kensington underground is a 5 min. walk. The Victoria and Albert museum is just across the street and it's within walking distance to many nice restaurants and shops. The rooms are very comfortable, bathrooms are great. The bar, lounge and restaurant are very good. Breakfast is delicious and included. All of the staff were very nice. Let me give a special "shout out" to Johny who was very attentive each morning at breakfast!
