Large, beautifully appointed room. Classy hotel. Great service. Clean. Just what you expect from the Ritz. While I don't have anything that stood out as above and beyond I don't have anything negative to say either. We enjoyed our 2 nights here, and would stay here again. Excellent location.
"Please Read This BEFORE You Make Your NYC Travel Plans - It's Worth It!"
I'll begin this review by saying I've been fortunate enough to stay at amazing resorts and hotels around the world: France, Spain, Hong Kong, Australia, Italy, Indonesia, Jordan, to name just a few. And of course, in the USA, my home country. I share this so the reader has context for the statements I am making in this review - statements that might, at first glance, seem over the top. Believe me when I tell you, I embellish nothing. As one would expect of a Ritz-Carlton, the staff are excellent. The food is phenomenal. The club level is unparalleled. And the property is exquisite. But that's not what makes a Ritz-Carlton a Ritz-Carlton. That's just par for their course. What make a Ritz a Ritz is that extra special "something." That small (or big) gesture that catches one by surprise, and that reveals the true character - and captures the essence - of the culture of a company dedicated to its craft. And that essence is embodied perfectly by Ender, the gentlemen who greeted us upon our arrival. We took our daughter to NY to celebrate her graduation (and her scholarship as she pursues a career in theater). What better place to do so than Broadway' Because she's never been to NY, I put us up in the heart of Times Square at the New York Marriott Marquis. But I also knew of the quality of The Ritz-Carlton, and opted to book one night at the hotel (our last night). How I wish we would have stayed there the entire time. On the day of our arrival, we enter the lobby and Ender greets us and escorts us to check-in. I happen to be wearing a Ritz-Carlton ball cap from San Francisco - and before I know it he's handing out ball caps from his hotel to each of us as a gift. Then he offers to escort us to the club (we were early and our room wasn't quite ready). My daughter was holding a few posters from Hamilton and The Phantom (we saw both the previous two nights), and we spoke briefly of our stay, letting him know we had one more play to see before heading home (Anastasia). And this is where The Ritz-Carlton shows that, like Porsche, it has no substitute. We head out to dinner (at the fabulous Quality Meats - no the name doesn't do it justice - which the concierge recommended), and then to the play. We get back to our room around 11:00pm. And then... Remember that "special something" I mentioned earlier - the one that makes one feel special, and cared for' While we were gone, Ender took it upon himself to go shopping. He purchased not one, not two, but all three soundtracks of the plays we saw while in NY!!! We opened the door to find them displayed on the entertainment center - and he had Anastasia playing on the Bose speaker system in the room!!! WHAT' Are you kidding me' WHO DOES THAT' With I don't know how many thousands of people that go in and out of that hotel, and this is the kind of attention we get' And note - I didn't reserve a suite - we were in a regular room! Never, and I mean NEVER have we ever been made to feel so special and wanted at a hotel (or any other establishment for that matter). Staring down at the thoughtful gifts and listening to the music of the play we just watched on Broadway, I watched my daughter wipe a tear from her eye. We were all touched by the gesture. In today's world, this just doesn't happen. It was then that I turned to my fiancé and declared that we would never again visit New York City without staying at The Ritz-Carlton Central Park.... And neither should you.
"Excellent Stay at the Ritz in New York Central Park!;"
Our visit at the Ritz Central Park was amazing in all ways!! Excellent Consier recommendations. My friend left her leather jacket at a store and the Paige went and retrieved it! Awesome bedding and rooms were clean as could be! Highly recommend!
"Don't confuse this Ritz with the original brand"
The hotel is relatively nice, rooms with grand names are in fact not so grand, the staff are friendly but apparently crippled by hotel policies. The magic of Ritz service has left this building... If you are going to spring for a premium hotel, I recommend finding another - this one charges like premium property but the similarities mostly end there.
"Unmatched customer service"
The ability to deliver such personalized experiences for their guests is unparalleled from any other company. True taste, elegance and respect is what you are rewarded with when choosing a Ritz Carlton property; most notable at the Central Park location.
