"Warm and wonderful"
Location is perfect if you want a quieter, very clean but still exciting part of the city. The hotel is undergoing some renovations which we were a bit nervous about but they managed that well and we had zero interference in our comfort and experience. The big plus here isn’t the professionalism of the staff, the warmth and welcoming that followed us each day at every point of contact. Club level is superb, very modern, great food and drink ( my husband even enjoyed a wine tasting with a resident expert). The pool and spa area is lovely, a real oasis. We had a late departure and were able to stay in comfort until we took their transport to the airport that evening. Incredible service. In my own country, in San Francisco Ritz Carelton, I can say that we checked in and out and felt completely anonymous. In Santiago, we felt a connection and great warmth and caring. Thank you. Bravo.
"Not what was expected. "
This hotel is supposed to be one of the best ones in the city. The lobby is beautiful, the pool is outstanding. Service is mixed. Some people are incredibly kind and others not so much. For example We arrived late and hungry at our check in date and came into the restaurant 20 minutes before it closed. They gave us service but quite rude and unexpected for this level of hotel. The check in Personnel gave us a bad view room notwithstanding we had a city view. She also offered the level club - which is very nice - without saying the benefits of not having it - for example breakfast and internet already included in our rate. Bottomline the hotel is good, facilities are some way tired - subject to remodelation with noise- and some people good but others not so much. My suggestion would be the manager to review their personnel and keep the very good ones and taking out the ones that do not fulfill the standard of the house. Would I come back' Not sure.
Good location, tranquil, nice hotel in midst of an upgrade. Typical ritz; fitness center needs an upgrade and night bar is sleepy but very peaceful. Concierge staff especially helpful and fluent in English. Nice indoor pool but would have bene nicer if outdoors on nice day
"Thank You for Outstanding Service"
I have the opportunity to stay at the Ritz-Carlton for business during October. The rooms were extremely clean and the service from the front desk and housekeeping was amazing. The employees were extremely friendly and willing to help in any way possible. If you get a chance, go up to the 15th floor to the pool area and enjoy the view of the city it's breathtaking. also, Philip , a server in the restaurant was very good! He remembered all our names from one day to the next and was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!!!!
"Construction work noisy, lack of attention to detail"
The room and facilities are very good. The hotel is under renovation and even though we were told of the potential noise starting at 9 am, construction started at 8 am right on room above ours, loud noise of heavy items hitting the floor, pounding non-stop, loud hammering noises. We had asked for a quite room far from the elevator, we were given this room, and were very closed to the elevator. We had requested a high floor and were given a room on the second floor, right on top of the main entrance. We had requested no feathers or down in the room and nothing was done about this until we had checked in and it took 30 min to do all changes during which time we had to stay outside of the room. When mentioned this to the reception we were told that they were full and that they had not received any of this requests. We were offered to pay $100 per day more to access the club but would not change our room! The breakfast had a good spread of items but service was too dependent on who was assigned to serve your table. One day a very attentive waitress, the next one that would not respond or respond rudely to any requests. Silverware during breakfast is for dinner rather than for the small plates available for breakfast. Big pointed knife and fork that makes it very awkward to spread butter. I asked for a butter knife and one day it was provided, while the next I was told that they are noticing those anymore. Also one they they provided smaller silverware that would be consistent with the small plates when asked and the next they would not. They do have the appropriate silverware but not the will nor the management to serve breakfast with the appropriate silverware. Great property, lack attention to detail. Not at the level of other Ritz Carlton's.
