Excellent facilities, service and food. The staff is incredibly professional and hospitality over my expect. Especially the staffs at concierge, the service is precise and helpful . The service and elegant and beautiful traditional Korea dress, makes me unforgettable. One night I would like have dinner with friends, but I can't speak Korean. So I consulted with the Concierge Ms. Jenny, she recommended the restaurant and make the reservation for me. After that she cared about if we satisfied with that restaurant. I traveled a lot globally, the days I stayed at Le Meridien in Seoul, is the best one and sweet one that I have been during business trip. Impressive and unforgettable stay in Le Meridian, Seoul.
"Excellent service but needs to work out kinks"
I was in Seoul for 2 days on business and wanted to try a different hotel. Selected Le Meredien as I am a SPG member. It was a very good hotel but rooms were smaller than I thought they would be. SPG beds are heavenly and amenities (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) are wonderfully more high end than other hotels. The staff was friendly but not everyone knew what gym or pool hours were. Front desk incorrectly told me the hours and a staff member who I met in the elevator on the way to the gym told me incorrect hours. Gym is 24/7 with a key but staffed only from 6-10 and pool is 5:30-10:00 is what I was eventually correctly told. Pool is very nice and long enough to swim proper laps. Breakfast was delicious with so much variety! Two outstanding employees who helped me navigate the subway and researched fine dining were Ms. Jenny Lee and the concierge Mr. Henry Jeong! Thank you both so much!
Checked out of the Le Meridien in Seoul after a couple of days and was struck by great customer service by 2 people that I felt was important to share and they are Irene from the club lounge and Kim Byung from the Gym who helped me recuperate from a hurt hamstring. Ultimately it is the people who make a difference and it just for that reason, I give these guys a high five!!! Keep up the good work and thanks for your hospitality.
"Celine Park is an angel!"
My wife and I spent our honeymoon 10 years ago at this hotel, prior to it transforming into Le Meridien. It actually used to be the Ritz Carlton. Anyhow, upon checking into our room, we noticed that the a/c did not function at all. Right away, Celine Park, the Duty mgr, upgraded us to a beautiful and spacious suite! Not only that, but a few days later, after a longgggggg and tiring day, my wife and I walked into our room to a lovely surprise! Macarons, delicious fruit, a bottle of wine, and a wonderful hand-written note! I've stayed at many Le Meridien hotels, and this one is up to par with the luxurious ambiance, but the service tops them all (e.g. Shanghai, Phuket). Thank you, Le Meridien and Celine Park!! <3 the Synn's.
"No 5 star feeling"
I had a layover in Seoul on a Sunday night and decided on Le Meridien since I'm a SPG Gold member and appreciate Le Meridien as a nice and contemporary style brand. The first impression was very nice when checking in and I got upgraded two steps to a junior suite which was of course great. When arriving to the room I was however very disappointed and shocked. It is a newly completely renovated building but they have chosen an old school Soviet design and the finishing work was quite poor. I actually had to go on the website to check if I had received a room that for some reason had not hade the make over yet. With a weird pistachio colour on the walls paired with dark walnut wood panels and brushed bronze fittings the designer must have been out of his/her mind. The ceilings were also quite low and the lighting overly bright and just really off putting. It was by far the ugliest room I've stayed in and absolutely not compareable to any of the previous 5 star Starwood properties I've been to. Also the paint job and panelling was poorly made and had scratches and paint stains so it looked old. At least the bed was comfortable. I'm happy it was just for one night.
