"Comfortable Stay, value for money"
I found the room to be comfortable and adequate, it is good value for money. The room layout is good, the view from the room is fabulous. I liked the relaxing balm that was kept in the room. Buffet breakfast was good with decent options for vegetarians such as stir fry veggies, potatoes, mushroom, baked beans etc. I feel the service could have been better. As there is a water shortage in Cape Town, the hotel has an option to go green and decline the daily house keeping service completely. I support this idea however I feel that there should be an option to go green and yet get some daily house keeping service such as getting the beds made without changing any of the sheets and refilling the drinking water. Anyway overall it was a comfortable stay and I'm satisfied.
"Definitely not the Westin I'm used to"
I was in CT on business and chose the hotel because its proximity to the convention center. My overall impression is that the hotel is old and somewhat run-down. Walking into the room, you get the sense that the hotel management is doing the bare minimum to keep the hotel going, and you get the impression that no one checks the rooms to see what state they're in. Upon going into my room, I could see that the window lock was broken and the window would make a loud whistling sound every time the wind blew. The glass on the window itself had major cracks in it and the condensation had set in between the double panes of glass. The overall cleanliness of the room, and specifically the bathroom were definitely sub par. The grout in the shower was moldy, and brownish and cracking in some places. A good scrubbing would have fixed the problem, but hélas, no one thought of that. The toilet seat cover had old crud build-up, and by looking at it you could tell it's been accumulating for quite some time. The wood furniture in the room had cracks and scratches, and the upholstery had visible stains, to the point that I didn't use the couch in my room during my entire stay. Even the blackout curtain had big visible stains on it and it just gave the feeling of a dirty surrounding. The TV hanging on the wall was crooked because the screws holding the TV mount had loosened. The labeling on the safe and on the minibar was either peeling or had been peeled of and the residue paper and glue had been left on... Like I mentioned earlier, you get a feeling that the hotel in dingy and run down. I have attached some photos to illustrate what I mentioned in my review. You don't get that feeling of a clean, crisp and inviting environment you would hope for in a luxury hotel that cost me close to $550 a night. Disappointing stay overall.
"Great value, can be busy"
Great location and value, with beautiful rooms and stunning views. If you mistime with a big conference in the neighbouring CTICC it can get a bit mental. Breakfast was great as were bar snacks, but didn’t have dinner there. Shuttle to V&A was a great addition and hotel is only around 20 mins from airport with light traffic. Pool is a large bathtub with great views of the motorway, so don’t bring your goggles expecting lengths in the morning. The actual structure was bizarrely noisy. Both a colleague and myself experienced the same phenomena, where in the morning there was the sound of a cracking noise that we both thought was caused by the sun hitting the hotel and the structure expanding... weird! All said though I’d gladly stay here again.
"Didn’t meet my expectations"
I visited this hotel a day after I stayed at the pepper club hotel and I expected the furnishings to be superb since I the room was an executive room and also that it was a 5 star hotel. The room service food was rather 👌👌
"Last Vacation of the Year"
My wife, her cousin, the cousins husband and I spent 6 nights at the hotel and it was amazing. From the time we checked into the hotel, the staff’s hospitality, our room, the amenities, the restaurant, the breakfast buffet - everything was top of the line. Wish we had more days to spent there. We loved Cape-Town and everything that the beautiful city had to offer. I had the BEST lamb shank at a restaurant down the street and oh how I’m going to miss Nando’s. I took as many shots of the beautiful city - hope and wish to go back next year!!
