I would like to say the Westin Chicago River North is an excellent choice when visiting the Windy City. You could walk just about anywhere. There were very good restaurants within half a mile. I hate that we couldn't get to them all. The river-view rooms were the best. We could watch all the action, including the filming of a movie. My daughter and I enjoyed the convenience of two restaurants downstairs before a Cubs game.
We stayed here for 2 nights and we loved everything about this hotel. We were on the 4th floor with fantastic river and city views. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was the best bed we have slept on, it was incredibly comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was also very good. We would highly recommend this hotel and we would definately stay here again.

"A small, perfect Westin"
I've had multiple stays in this property, all of them wonderful, and only wish I could stay here more often. The location is great. It's an easy walk from the CTA station if one takes the train in from O'Hare. Once here, it's easy to cross the river and explore all the Loop has to offer or to head north for the charms of Michigan Avenue and surrounds. Some rooms offer amazing views of the fabulous Chicago skyline and all of the activity that takes place on the Chicago River. But it's a reasonably small property... and feels like it (I consider that a very good thing). If you're in Chicago in the winter and feel like spending the big bucks, there's a suite on the top floor that has a two-person sauna in the bathroom! Not only can it warm the bones; but if one has walked the Chicago streets enough in snow and slush, wet shoes dry quite adequately if the sauna's put on for a while before bed, then shut off again and the shoes allowed to sit in there overnight. On the other hand, one could just wear boots and avoid the hassle entirely!
"Puts you in the heart of the city"
Recently stayed at the Westin River North for a wedding. The hotel is beautiful and the service is great. The hotel overlooks the north branch of the Chicago River and puts you right in the middle of the city. Whether you are looking to get into the loop to see the Picasso or get to the shops on Michigan Ave, this is a good spot that will put you in walking distance to the sites of the city and close to public transportation. Word of Advice: We stayed in a room overlooking the river, please note that you are in the city of Chicago...it will not be quiet. You will hear the cars driving over the bridges, honking, helicopter tours, etc. As a Chicagoan you get used to it, but it is something that is noticeable for someone (like myself) who easily wakes to any noise. If you stay at the hotel and would prefer quiet, try to ask for a room facing away from the river.
