"Good services, nice hotel"
We like this hotel as it is located at Myeong-dong, the most popular shopping area in Seoul. Also it takes only 5 minutes to walk to Euljiro-1-ga or City Hall subway stations where you can take line 1 and line 2 trains and you can reach almost every tourist attractions. I stayed at this hotel on 21 June 2017. I arrived early at noon. The hotel room was ready. The room was spacious and modern. Wifi speed was exceptionally fast. Everything was fine but what impressed me most was the kindness of Miss Emma Joo. My husband booked the hotel room through his travel agent. He was unaware that he would lose the benefit of latest checkout at 4:00pm for SPG gold member. We were told that such benefit was available only if the booking was made through the websites of the hotel or SPG.com. However Miss Yoo was so nice and flexible to offer us late check out at 3:00pm. This saved us lots of trouble as our flight would be on the next evening. I had a happy stay and I definitely would stay at this hotel again.
"Unbeatable location for Myeongdong"
This is a Westin hotel that is located at the doorstep of Myeongdong - arguably the most popular/famous shopping area in Seoul. The hotel itself is lovely - all the clean, modern, comfortable touches you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Should you be travelling for business, its a great choice. For those on holidays, if you are unsure about getting around in Seoul and want to stay in a good quality hotel that is close to the action, then this would be your choice. Myeondong is foot steps away, no need for trains or taxis. Highly recommend.
"Excellent hotel in a great location!"
Modern elegant hotel in a great location. The executive lounge was very good, served a very nice breakfast, also had the evening light snacks with cocktails. The kal bus stops at doorstep ! Very convenient. Next to lotte shopping, also next to the local markets. Walked to the palaces etc. There is a street food location right next to it in the evening which was quite adventurous ! Great staff. Would stay here again without hesitation.
"Great Stay, Excellent Location, Attentive Staff - Trifecta of stays"
First time at this location and I have found my new go-to hotel. Some help for those who are curious about this hotel: LOCATION - excellent. It's right next to Myeondong which has tons of shopping, food stalls and shops on a pedestrian only area. You can find all your beauty needs but also gifts and clothing. this is less than a 60 second walk from the hotel. GREAT location. To access, go to the LL (lower lobby) in the hotel via elevator, walk outside and its on your left. The block the hotel is on has 4 Starbucks. Crazy but they are always busy. On the same block of the hotel there are several mini marts (including 7-11) as well as the Coffee Bean, department store Lotte which also has grocery store and food court (large!) and upscale shopping. it was wierd but I saw a Panda Express in the food court! Subway entrance is on the block of hotel as well. Can't go wrong with this location! HOTEL: Great hotel with nice upgrades. I read in other reviews that food was expensive and I will agree. Its crazy expensive! For example, to order a small cheese pizza for room service, its approximately USD$33.00 menu price. not including delivery and the restaurants are no different but the food is delicious. There is a cafe in the lower lobby of the hotel next to back doors that will serve you a variety of sandwiches made to order as well as assorted fresh bakery items. I had the vegetarian Caprese and it was great. Only about 10.00. The rooms are well equiped with fridge and necessities and I love that they have power outlets for the 110V (American appliances) so there is no need to ask for a converter or bring your own adapter or converter. Nice upgrade Westin! SPA/SAUNA: This is gorgeous and I highly recommned. The spa/sauna is a traditional Korean spa so I learned a couple of things the hard way, that I would like to share in order to help out other westerners. 1) Saunas are women only and men only so they are separated. You MUST respect their culture and therefore the saunas are to be enjoyed NAKED. no swimsuits allowed. I didn't realize this and thoughts since it was a hotel, that I could wear my suit but I was quickly yanked from the sauna area and asked to remove my suit which I gladly did. I just didn't know. 2) they have a HOT tub, they have a mild warm tub and they have an ice cold tub too. Loved it! going from hot to cold got my heart rate up and my day started with energy. They also have a steam room and a dry sauna as well. 3) When you use the steam or dry sauna and you want to hop into one of the hot/mild/cold tubs, you MUST use one of the small white buckets, dip in the water and pour over yourself before you enter the pool to wash the sweat off your body before entering. I learned this because a very angry Korean women yelled at me and showed me what I was doing wrong. Happy to oblige :-) If you are a vegetarian/vegan, there is not much of an option but in the lotte food court next door, lots of great fresh fruit options, a few juice bars. As a veg, I really missed not eating traditional Korean food so my colleague took me about a mile away to a Temple that only sells a vegan menu and it was AMAZING! Ask the concierge for information but its a great way for vegetarians to get local cuisine because all other kimchi is made seafood... (I didn't realize this!) Starbucks only has soy milk but Mammoth coffee next to starbucks behind hotel does sell a variety of fresh juices for juice cleanse...Approx. 6.00 per small bottle. STAFF: all great. from the front desk, the bellman, housekeeping and executive lounge..all pleasant, attentive and very helpful.. Great stay!
My husband and I were here for a week. He was here for business and I was the tourist. The hotel met our every need. We booked a junior suite, but were upgraded to a lovely full suite. The gym was amazing! The breakfast buffet (which came with the room) was overwhelming. The front desk staff were very, very knowledgeable and were able to help whenever the concierge was not available. The location was great. There are several restaurants in the hotel which were ridiculously expensive. We ate in the Italian restaurant twice, but ate all our other meals around town.
