Nice hotel , great location.Comment of T. Daniel , United States the 2016-10-03
"Just stay somewhere else"
I'm a loyal SPG gold member and generally love the Westin chain. My experience at the Westin Copley Place, however, has been nothing short of terrible. I had to change rooms 3 times, which should be an embarrassment to the hotel. First room reeked of mildew. Ok, could have been a fluke so went downstairs to ask for another room. Given another room that literally had a shattered picture frame in the bathroom and buckling and fraying carpet in the bedroom. After calling down to the front desk again, I was given keys to a different room and of course when I got to the room the keys didn't work. Offered a breakfast voucher for having to change rooms 3 times. No thanks, you can keep your voucher. How about you give your customers a clean and presentable room next time. Too many other options in this neighborhood. Don't waste your time here.
"Extraordinary stay in beautiful hotel"
Thanks to the attentive service and perceptive advice of Mr. Matt Hogan at the front desk, we had an exceptional experience in Boston and at the Westin Copley Square. Our room was an enchantment and the location of the hotel is the best in the city.
"Not very attentive staffs."
Great location. Spacious room. Nice view. I just wish the staffs would be more attentive. I encountered two panhandlers in the lobby waiting area. It was such a strange experience coming from an upscale hotel. Otherwise it was a nice stay.
"Not a Westin"
This used to be a great hotel which offered a unique combination of convenience with the quality expected from a Westin property. Now you're barely left with convenience and even that's up for debate. I'll keep this short: We stayed for one night and checked in after 3pm. My pregnant wife when to take a nap and when we looked, the comforter was covered in hair. Disgusting. We called twice to have it change, once to let them know and once to speed it up as we had less than two hours before heading back out. The whole place is stripped of amenities. No lotion, no shower cap, no mini-bar. You have to call Service Express and then it's a hassle. Get ready for the bill. I don't mind paying big prices at expensive hotels. You expect it. At the Westin, you can't charge like this: almost $60 for a small flat bread pizza and a bottle of sparking water: How is that you say' $21 for the pizza, $10 delivery fee, 15% service charge, $5 tip, taxes and I'm guess $15 for the bottle of sparkling water. Parking' Overnight is $54 and they gave us the wrong ticket for our car, so we had to go back a few times for them to find the car. The room used to be luxury, but with such a large room and so few SPG options in downtown Boston it seems like attention to detail has gone out the door and so you're just paying for the honor of staying there. That's our last stay there, even if it was free. The Hyatt on Memorial Dr if we're coming with the kids for the space and free in/out parking, or the Four Seasons if it's just the two of us again.
"I was harassed by the security"
I am a loyal SPG rewards member so after I went through this experience, I was a little angry. I was supposed to be checked in at 6 am. My room was not ready till about 9. So i decided to sleep on a couch on the second floor out of sight until they called me to get my room. Security came and harassed me with in 5 min asking if I was a guest. I told them I was they wanted me to verify with the front desk so I did that. After that they said I could go back up and nap. So I went back up and after 2 min another security guard said I have to keep it moving! I couldn't believe this I am paying $550 a night and they would. It stop bothering me to close my eyes and wait for the room that was promised to me. I ended up waiting about 2 hrs and they finally called me to get a room. By then I was irritated. I have never felt so embarrassed by a hotel. I am really disappointed by the way I was treated even after proving I am a current guest. I will never stay at that hotel again. They need to learn proper tact on handling paying customers versus vagrant people. The rooms were nice and had a good view after 31 and higher.
