"Enjoyable stay & Friendly staff."
Loved the exec lounge... The chaps who were looking after us during the evening shifts were always friendly and helpful. Relaxing and cool inside and a nice balcony, with some shade, if you so desire. Rooms could do with some updating but not the worst I've seen... The only downside to our room was we could hear the AC plant blowing/sucking air on the roof across from our balcony and the safe was too small for my laptop! Overall recommended.
"The Sunday brunch was a dream"
My family and I went to the Westin Dragonara for Sunday Brunch and we could not believe our eyes! Variety was outstanding, quality was above average for buffet fair. Usually I am not a fan of buffet because quantity somewhat rules ahead of quantity but, I was pleasantly surprise to get both. I am fond of seafood and there was an abundance. The other notable was the desserts- fantastic and varied! Book At LEAST one week in advance and perhaps more during the heavy tourist months.
"Think before you book for a stay with a Toddler"
We arrived yesterday, wanted to send a warning to all parents of Toddlers who are soon to arrive. In itself the hotel is fine, however when it comes to sleeping arrangements for toddlers it is just ridiculous. Our daughter is 2.5 years old and just transitioning to a bed, but at the time of booking we requested a baby cot to be prepared in the room. Two days prior to our arrival, I received an email from the manager requesting us to confirm our arrival and needs. Once again I specifically stated our daughters age and the need for a baby cot. This was confirmed. However on arrival in our room, there was a basic cot and mattress. No bedding, no pillow just a basic mattress. I called housekeeping. They informed that it was Westin Policy not to provide baby bedding. I called the manager, we were offered a baby blanket to "use at our own risk" Our daughter spent the night under a 50x50 cm tiny blanket. Hardly what you would expect! Policy is one thing, but there is No mention of this on their website, nor in the two email confirmations. The irony is that they promote themselves as a family hotel My advice, be prepared to bring our own child bedding or book a different hotel !
"Very disappointing "
We visited this hotel and had a bad experience from the start. There was a power cut and still we got shoved into a lift which got stuck half way up to our room - the attendant didn't know which lift we were in!!! We got a suite on the executive floor, the room was disappointing with many features very dated and the cleaning not up to standard. The food and drink at the club floor were very poor - little choice and bad service. The fire exits were constantly blocked by cleaning equipment violating just about all H&S EU regulation. Overall, a very disappointing stay - we even wrote to the manager who was very dismissive of our concerns. I am returning to Malta this year but avoiding this place. Suggest you look around at the options in the area before you book.
"It's a business hotel not family"
Stayed here while visiting for a wedding with my family. The hotel is very nice but swamped with people on conventions all of which gather in the foyer and bar areas .It felt around 95% business to 5% holiday makers and was quite awkward walking through everyone in your bathers and flip flops to and from the pool and at night with small children. Don't be under the illusion this is a holiday hotel
