"Great hotel great rooms"
Booked 4 nights here for meetings. The hotel is located in the middle of downtown gaslight district was very easy to get from the airport. Parking is valet and 49 dollars a night. I had no problem parking or retriving my car. Check in was quick and easy. The staff supper nice and oviusly happy to help out. In fact they were always happy and smiling this makes a huge diffrence to a day. I had requested a king room but non were availible having said that a double with queen beds in the higher floor was perfectly satifactory. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN. tidy and pleasant. The showers are a little old with a step in bath and shower head, again its not an issue, while i am not a fan of the bath shower combo thingy it did the job given that i am on the fourteenth floor. Lots of power outlets tv works safe and coffee filter yum yum the coffee is actualy good as well! Gasp yes its actualy drinkable! The bed while a small queen was very comfortable. I had a good nights sleep. And lots off pillows. I only slept in one bed ( well come on who sleeps in two beds in one night)so the other was very usfull for chuking my stuff on. Meals in yhe restarant are ok and yourbfive minutes walk if you need a tast of culture in the gas lamp district.. the bar was well stocked with my fav whisky Lagvelin. And most bars have never heard of it. Internet is very good once you set it up, now it may be that my galaxy tab is an issue but setting it up was cluncky you can set up only for two nights thenbyou have to do it again. But it ,ight be that the system is not designed for tablets. Overall a great place i would deffinatly book it again and will be back.
We had our Global Partner Conference here last weekend, and it was a really good setting. The hotel staff were excellent in all regards, and the event as a whole was perfect. From a personal viewpoint, I can only recommend the Westin. Check-in was smooth and professional (and as an SPG member, I was given a room on the top-floor). It's the little touches that make a difference, and getting a call 5 minutes after checking into my room to make sure everything was in order was a good touch. The beds are comfortable, the aircon is reasonably quiet, and they offer complementary bottled water every day. Excellent breakfast selection (they do a really good Eggs Benedict) , along with a reasonable menu for lunch and dinner . I think they may have had a problem with the bar, though, as I found myself holding it up every night till late :) Great selection of beers, gins , and whisky. Also good tequila selection, but I managed to behave and steer clear of those. There is a decent gym, and if you forget your work-out clothes, they offer a 'rental' for $5 (trainers etc) during your stay. I took my gym kit with me, but found that late nights and early starts meant I didn't actually use the gym at all for the 6 days I was there. I exercised enough holding the bar up ..... However, I did find time on the last day, before an 11 hour flight home, to have a massage at the Spa. Laura was fantastic, and an 80 minute massage was just the ticket. Possibly a little pricey, but definitely worth it. So in summary, great staff, decent rooms, and good food and drink. On top of a perfect location in the Gas Lamp Quarter, with a wealth of restaurants and bars to choose from (which we did every night)..... Thanks!!
"Fantastic stay "
The entire staff was absolutely fabulous on our 7 night stay. The housekeeping staff was so incredibly accommodating to any request that we made. The valet and bell hops were so nice every time we returned or left for the day. They also recommended some awesome places to eat! We will be back for sure.
"Great location and service"
I was here for a conference recently, and the service was impeccable, right down to the employees in the coffee shop on the first floor. In fact, if I could, I would choose to start every day with hot coffee served by Kevin. He's the best!
"Quick Swim Trip to San Diego"
My boss and I flew to San Diego to swim in the San Diego Sharkfest Swim on October 8th. As a Platinum Guest, I received a welcome email from Alisha a few days prior and she gave my boss a great room we ended up having dinner in due to its special features and its view! This was my request and it was honored! The hotel has been refreshed since I was last there about 7-8 years ago and the lobby is very bright and nice looking. it's well located and convenient to lots of restaurants and the Gaslamp District and its offerings. After swimming a mile in the San Diego Bay Sunday morning we retreated to the warmer waters of the hotel's pool, which was a quiet, relaxing option to rest up at before our return flight.
