"Absolutely wonderful holiday."
We are just on our last day of a two week holiday here and don't want to leave. After a 36 hour journey we finally arrived and immediate felt relaxed. We were checked in and taken to our room which was a beachfront deluxe, we didn't realise until the next morning how beachfront it was as we arrived in the dark! What a view and to hear the sea constantly was amazing. The room was huge and had a zen garden and outdoor shower as well as freestanding bathtub. I dont think the pictures truly get across how nice it is. Everything has been excellent and all the staff wonderful. There are ones who stand out like Girish in the retreat bar who remember our orders and refreshed our glasses when he saw they were low. Also Kevin in seasonal tastes who was lovely. There are many more staff who made our stay very enjoyable. The food and drinks have been great and theres always something you can find although i did think the buffet suited the asian guests tastes better. Kangan restaurant was excellent food and service wonderful. We did the all inclusive package and glad we did, you get a three course meal in Kangan and a credit towards Fusion but we never ate in there, also most drinks are covered its more premium ones that they charge for.Mystique and beach grill were our haunts for lunch with Mystique been our favourite as you can sit with your feet in the sand listening to the waves. There is a lot of space here so you don't feel crammed in with other guests and plenty of sun loungers by the pools and on the beach so no need to worry bout getting one. Our only regret is were not staying longer but i think we will definitely return.
Nothing but excellent thoughts, memories and comments to recall our stay at the Westin. The staff from start to finish were extremely helpful, friendly and willing to go the extra mile for us. The room was outstanding with a particularly good outside area. The outside areas were just stunning, two very good pools and a lovely beach packed with sunbuds, activities. The restaurants were all of top quality, not one thing went amiss. Would 100% stay here again when the time comes to return to Mauritius.
"Exceptional Service from Resort Staff"
We would like to acknowledge the wonderful Hospitality Staff from all of the departments associated with the Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa Mauritius. We both very much enjoyed our five nights stay at the Resort and we were treated respectfully by true professionals in every area of service. During our stay all the staff we encountered where very friendly, polite and greeted us with genuine smiles and any requests were acknowledged and processed promptly. The location for the Resort is superb and the atmosphere is very calming. Our pre-holiday stress was soon eliminated and we were so relaxed and felt most welcome during our stay. The Entertainment offered each evening was of great variety and was a most enjoyable way to finish a perfect day. We would like to mention a few favourite Staff members that we encountered who made our holiday so special. Listed in random order are: Ravi, Jeet, Ram, David, D'J. Jeremie, Kevin, Angela, Nilesh, Laura, Beon and Pratima. We apologise to all the others not listed but whom crossed our path with exceptional service. They are all a credit to Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa Mauritius and we would again like to express our gratitude for a most memorable holiday. Kindest Regards from Christopher King and Marcia O'Connor
"An amazing week of sun, sea and cocktails!!"
We felt compelled to write this review after enjoying a wonderful week at the Westin resort and after reading some of the unnecessarily negative comments previously posted. These did not correlate with our experience at all. We booked the all inclusive package and it was made very clear by Trailfinders and the hotel what to expect. Yes not all things are included, but you could very easily not spend any extra money and still have good quality meals with lots of choice. We did spend a little extra to eat in Fusion which is not unreasonable when the choices included lobster, beef filet and lamb shank. As for the drinks, again you get a lot of choice in the all inclusive. Only a small handful of cocktails are not included along with premium brand spirits. All off the staff were brilliant. A huge thank you to Hevin, who really made our week special by bringing us surprise drinks by the pool. This made us feel like VIPs!! Keshav who served us at breakfast and lunch was extremely friendly and brightened up our meal times. Finally huge thank you to Keshlam and Kevin who made our holiday end on a high!!! (Luckily we still made our flight after all the beers and cocktails!!) It's worth noting we only tipped on the last day but the service was impeccable throughout the week, which shows they are genuinely committed to ensuring their guests have the best time. We noticed and observed during our stay that being polite and friendly towards the staff goes a really long way. The property itself was well maintained in our opinion. There are more than enough sun loungers meaning there was no stress reserving your spot in the morning. Restaurant closures were well communicated with lots of other choice still available. We loved the fact that there was no need to book way in advance either. We made reservations the day before with no problem. All in all the Westin is a beautiful resort with a very relaxed and calm atmosphere. Perfect for a relaxing get away. We will definitely be back!!!! Thank you again to all the staff for a truly enjoyable stay, Andrew and Heather Williams (room 1010!)
From the welcome to the good bye the service was exceptional. There are a few people in particular who stood out to me - Nickhill ( beach waiter) always friendly, attentive and even when he saw me elsewhere in the grounds he always offered to help. Tom, my evening waiter in seasonal tastes, on the outside deck pre-emptied my drinks and table choices and always got it right. Dom the breakfast waiter always looked after me and made sure I had all I needed and was always so welcoming and helpful. A special thanks to all 3, they deserve praise for excellent service. The rooms were more than adequate and I was upgraded which was a lovely touch. There are plenty of food choices, mystique for lunch was so good it's worth the walk. The Heavenly Spa is heavenly and the toiletries available in the rooms are good quality and I loved the bathrobes. If you are going, treat yourself to cashmere from the gift shop, I didn't appreciate the true quality of what was available until too late. For me there were 2 negatives which were feeling as though being an all inclusive guest was seen as a negative by the staff in the restaraunts because there no bill/ income to come and the most dreadful was the stray dogs that run round the estate. This was extremely distressing to see as they were hungry, weak, scratching, rubbing there bottoms along the floor and were mad for a female on heat even chasing her under a guests sunbed (5 at once) and I would wake in the night hearing them barking/ yelping. They would follow people around the estate. Stray dogs is a problem throughout Mauritius. I did report it to management so I hope they did something as this was not acceptable in a 5 star hotel. They also do not clean the beach sun beds down daily which is common practice in other 5*. I loved the beach and it was fab watching the little rock pools and inhabitants. Will miss that and the sound of the sea although the September weather is the worst I have experienced in Mauritius. I will next time go in June as it's usually fine then and there will be a next time.
