"Sophisticated and elegant six star experience"
Rarely are hotels a six star experience. This is one of them. The location is superb, in the heart of the gourmet area, with the vibey lane-ways and bars literally a few steps away. It's also just a couple of minutes to The River Yarra, The National Gallery and only a few minutes more to the stunning Botanical Gardens. Plus there are two theatres right next door and excellent shopping. From the moment of arrival service reminds one of the best of yesteryear delivered in a spacious, sophisticated and elegant environment. The concierge desk, run by Steve and (special thanks to) Ian, add enormous value to the hotel's culture of high quality personal attention to each guest. Thank you too to Rodolfo for an excellent reservation experience and check in. In fact every staff member throughout the hotel offered warm, under-stated, professional service. Our room was large and lovely, and with its' French doors and Juliet balcony overlooking beautiful architecture it was easy to imagine we were in Paris. Sleep quality was of high calibre and we also enjoyed the buffet breakfast, 25 metre pool and steam room. We can't wait to return as as soon as possible!
The staff when you first arrive are excellent. Good buffet with a a good range and tasty food. The best part of the hotel is it's placement. Central to the theatre district and shopping. Definitely one of the better hotels in Melbourne.
"Love The Westin"
Love everything about The Westin Melbourne - great staff, divine rain showers and a heavenly bed. Great location for my meetings and spot shopping! My room this trip was fabulous and was a city vista and beautiful at dusk.
"Great location but some construction noise ATM"
Well, the Westin Melbourne both surpassed my expectations and left me grumpy and grouchy during the same trip. There is construction of metro at the moment so that is something to be aware of. I was lucky to be able to check into my room early as I arrived after a long flight, so this was much appreciated, however I was left grumpy after being telephoned then woken by housekeeping to tell me I had DND on my door - like REALLY !! because I was sleeping... don't wake me to tell me.. put a note under the door.... the rooms are very spacious and the staff were very helpful especially Ian the concierge (older guy) who is an absolute treasure. If I had my SPG special 'you made my stay' tokens to hand I would have given him one. Breakfast is excellent, though a little pricy. Again all the staff there are delightful. We will stay again and again, the location is perfect for us. The pool and spa area were empty when we used it, which was fabulous.... the gym was also very quiet with only one other person there....
My daughter and I were here last Saturday to celebrate her birthday with a High Tea. It was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent & the food was delicious. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome. The setting is in a lovely spot. We'd been warned of the construction works going on outside & can honestly say we didn't even notice it. We were also offered complimentary champagne to apologize for any noise inconvenience (there wasn't any)which was a nice gesture. We will definitely return.
