We had a wonderful stay at The Westin resort & spa Cancun. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was not cheap but excellent. Concierge is very friendly and helpful.Comment of B. Patrick , Belgium the 2016-08-19
It's was our 1st time in Mexico & had flown along way just to be their, coming from Australia . We normally take holidays every winter over seas & I must may this was the best hotel & service buy far. The moment of arivel we were givin a lovely room in the royal club the staff there was amazing & made sure our stay their was just as amazing . I was very sad when the time come to leave . What any traveler wants the Westin resort sure have beautiful rooms , beautiful views , the best staff , free wifi to keep in touch with loved ones while away & free drinks after 5pm each day . Heaven on earth that's for sure !!! We were actely traveling for 6 wks & I must say the Westin certainly set the bar high for any other hotel we stay at now ! When we left cancun we flew to cabo & I have to say I wish I was still at the Westin . Thank you for such an amazing experienceComment of F. Brooke , Australia the 2014-07-17

"Great customer service and beautiful beach!"
I stayed at this hotel with my 3 children for 2 nights. I had originally booked for 4 through a website (do not ever book anything through Prestigia.com- you've been warned!) but when we arrived after an 11-hr flight from London the booking was nowhere to be found. The reception staff were great, I could use their Wi-Fi to try and contact the agent and when Prestigia said they had left me a voice mail (while I was somewhere over the Atlantic) saying that they couldn't confirm the booking (despite sending me a confirmation of booking AND payment) the Westin offered me a reasonable rate for 2 nights, though it was considerably more than the rate I had originally booked. Considering we were exhausted and really hot, we decided to stay. We were upgraded to the Royal Beach Club rooms and that was a great gesture of them to try and make things better for us. The room was very nice, lagoon-facing. Like it's been stated in other reviews, it's a bit tired and in need of remodelling, but they are doing it now! I did get the musty smell mentioned in other reviews. THE PROS: 1) The beach. The sights. They take your breath away. 2) The staff. The customer is at the heart of everything they do. They always smile and are willing to help. I work in the travel industry and can understand how difficult it can be. Staff is this hotel's greatest asset. 3) The pools. Very clean and gorgeous, with many sun loungers for everyone. The beach also has many loungers. 4) Very close to the airport. 10 minutes away. Very handy if you want to just get to your hotel room after a long flight. 5) Coffee and tea making facilities- pleased to see this being more and more common in Mexico, probably due to the large influx of British tourists. Coffeemaker was good and the coffee provided was great! 6) The kids club. We didn't have time to use it, but we were given a timetable with all the activities going on... great option if you want a couple of hours to yourself! THE CONS: 1) Food prices are extortionate. Everything in Cancun is extortionate, but every meal is at least £80 with tips (remember I'm with 3 children,so kiddies meals and no alcohol!) I don't mind paying for good food but food was not great. I was looking forward to breakfast but the chilaquiles were mush and the scrambled eggs were too wet. The fruit was looking sad and not very fresh. 2) The hotel is at the very far end of the hotel zone so far from everything. However, the bus stop is not far and the R1 and R2 buses run literally every 2 minutes and they are fast! You'll be at La Isla in 15 minutes! If you're on honeymoon and don't plan to leave the hotel (or your room! ;-) ) this is a good option for you! 3) The hotel is undergoing renovations and there is noise and the main building isn't looking at its best, however, you have the lovely beach view to make up for it! As you can see, the pros outweigh the cons. I would stay here again but at the right price. I was quoted $480 USD a night for the next 2 nights over the weekend, so moved on to Playa Del Carmen and we are enjoying having everything on our doorstep! If you want/can pay lots of money for food/snacks, then go for it! Apart from that this is a good hotel.
"Beach hotel close to Airport"
Really in need of renovations, I don't know why they have waited so long, it is so past due. They have started now, I hope it will be more than a soft reno. If you're coming from the airport, you can't beat the location, very quick and easy to get to right at the beginning of the hotel strip. Vallet parking is free of charge which is a nice break from the rest of North America. The pools look nice, but it is a quiet place, no shows or main evening gathering place, the top floors have balconies to sit out on, that was kind of nice. The staff are pleasant and attentive. I would give it another try after the renos just to see what the did. There is really nothing wrong with it, it just felt like and old Mexican place, not a Westin on a beautiful white sand beach.
Dionisis and Betty are the best, they have great activities and made my holiday so much fun. I would have been really bored without this and I'm really grateful for having them organise this whole club.
"Nice location. Under construction"
Westin Spa of Cancun was in a very nice location. Quiet and several minute to airport. The grounds were nicely laid out and the beach was quiet. Rooms were standard. Several pools on property. Gym was nicely equipped. Restaurant for breakfast in main building was very good. Hotel is under construction for updates and is visibly heard during the whole day. Make sure you don't do money exchange at hotel. Exchange was about 20 percent below fair market. Nice hotel but construction noise
"AMAZING HONEYMOON WE HAD IT WAS EXCELLENT!!"
I have always wanted to go to Cancun Mexico after reading up on the reviews and seeing pictures. I recently married in June a Greek Mexican so we decided to come to Cancun. He did all the booking and arranging for the trip and told me it will be the best and excellent! Overall we had an excellent time at the hotel the staff, cleaning and hotel was wonderful i felt like home being there. It was nice to be in his home country and after his father passed he relieved the memories he had with him there. The hotel was excellent and i really liked it alot. The construction did not bother us at all. We did our sigtseeing, our eating, beach and so forth. We stayed for a week and we did go to the Tulum and i loved it. Cancun is beautiful and the scenery is so wonderful and there is so much to learn about the history. I was really amazed about it. We are coming back to Cancun again and staying in this hotel because we really enjoyed it. The staff and the hotel is beautiful it was very clean and people were helpful and very nice!!! The hotel is in a great location and its very peaceful there.
