"rest and relaxation"
absolutely breathtaking view of the bay especially in the rooms in 1600 pavilions great breakfast variaty and since its til 11 great for late sleepers. the splash pool on upper level is usually less full and great for sunset and privacy
"Mediocre service "
The place is beautiful, food is good, rooms are nice, BUT the service is far from being great. I have had to wait 2 hours and called 6 times the reception for them to bring me a piece of paper. Had to ask 3 times for a cappuccino during breakfast before getting it... That was really disappointed with the service.
"There are much better choices in Phuket"
Horrible beach and a sea that I wouldn't even trust to dip my toe in. Smell of sewage in the corridors. Less than perfect cleanliness in the pools. It's a pity - we expected a lot more from a brand like Westin and were deeply disappointed. The staff are a delight however, and the food very good. If you were hoping for white sandy beaches then do not pick this resort. Busloads of noisy tourists also tend to take away any remaining charm the place could try to salvage but then I suppose it has to survive somehow.
"All rooms are sea view!"
Quite abandon location as if you travel from Patong side, you gonna spend a lot for transportation. Better have a car for traveling in Phuket. Anyway, the property itself is perfect. Nice sea view, 3 pools and several activities by the resort provided. I went to the Thai restaurant that the hostess was really concern of us that I don't like to sit next to a group of kids then she assist us to have another place. They also have a homemade bread with awesome toppings for the appetizer. Another international restaurant also provided an exceptional service when they know that we like the toppings from the thai restaurant, they quickly grabbed it for us. Already passed more than 4 months then I am not able to recall their name but me and my boyfriend really appreciate the service.
"This is a better hotel than reviews would imply"
We are just finishing up a 5 night stay at the Westin in Phuket and we had a very nice stay. I am an SPG Platinum member so I have been in lots of hotels. First, this hotel is not dated as some reviews have implied. We stayed in suite 1712 which is located at the top of the hill. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, with lots of amenities, 2 private decks and a spectacular view. The resort is built into a cliff so the views are stunning and there are electric golf carts to drive you up and down the hill. The guys who drive these carts were great. Right below our room was one of 3 infinity pools at the resort. This pool was very quiet and often we had the pool to ourselves. This pool offers a bar with a stunning view over the bay and snacks. Further down the hill is a 2nd infinity pool with multiple private lagoons and a swim up bar. This is a great spot for Happy Hour everyday from 5-7 with 2 for 1 drinks. Still further down the hill is a 3rd pool (by the Italian restaurant) and the beach. The beach offers lounge chairs and free kayaks and paddle boards. The beach is OK for swimming at high tide but not spectacular. It is yellow sand (not white) and cloudy water not crystal clear. At low tide the water is a long way from shore. The beach is the main reason I didn’t give this resort a 5. During our stay we tried all of the restaurants and the food was very good. Thai, seafood, Italian, Asian, International .... all good. The Renewal Breakfast at Eest was awesome. I am not sure who the bakery/pastry chef is but they deserve a raise! The pizzas are also very good and large enough to share. The resort runs a shuttle to Phuket Town and Patong Beach. There is a charge for both. I agree with charging to go to Patong since it is an hour away but the shuttle to Town should be free. Finally, the staff were awesome. Friendly, helpful, professional. Could not ask for more.
