"Distant location away from hustle & bustle and needs lot of improvement"
Private pools were not clean. When Informed abt the dirty pool in Sala pool villa, we were offered an upgraded brkfast. It did not seem to us like much of an upgrade except tht the restaurant (EEST) had a/c. Breakfast spread generally seemed to have littly variety from 1 day to another. The buggy service is less than satisfactory. In fact it was clear tht thr was a shortage of personnel. While checking out, we were delayed half an hour firstly bcoz our key card was blocked right after I cleared the bill and went to the villa to get our luggage despite the fact tht I informed it to the Reception. So we r locked out without any scope of informing the reception. I managed to request some staff who called the reception but no one came. So finally I went down myself and got the key. Again thr was delay & confusion while getting the buggy while bringin luggage to revtion. Stuff kept in recption safety box in front of me but not opened in my presence whn I asked for them, just handed down.
"Love the swim up bar"
My friends and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It was a trip full of adventure and we loved the property. The pools are awesome and the main pool has a swim up bar. The staff made my friends birthday great at the pool. We just hoped that the hotel would be more central to the town, however, a taxi is easy to arrange.
"First time in Westin Phuket but not the first time in Phuket"
I have been to Phuket a lot of times already. Hyatt in Kamala, Regent in Cape Panwa, Pullman Arcadia Naithon, Holiday Inn in MaiKhao etc. Since Westin opened in Phuket, I have always wanted to try but no opportunity until now. The resort is spread across a hill, which is very nice. The room is big enough, with all the amenities. The view is marvellous, we can see the sunset everyday if the weather is good. There are ample buggies to take you to almost anywhere in the resort so you do not have to walk that much. There are 3 pools, Horizon pool(main pool), Splash pool(quietest and private) and Prego pool(a bit small). There are 3 restaurants, namely Season Taste(if I remember correctly), EEST and Prego... The buffet breakfast is good, the spread is big enough covering local dishes and international. The prices of EEST is a bit high. And the lighting of the Prego (inside dinning) is a bit too bright. Splash pool have a lot of mosquitos, especially during rainy season. The private beach is quite enough to rest and tan. But the quality of the water is not clear or turquoise in colour. Overall, it is quite a quiet resort. Well done. But to come back to Phuket and stay at the same hotel, is most unlikely. But we will never know.
" Wonderful stay at the Westin"
My husband and I are on our last day here after spending the last week in our fabulous Junior Suite. The Suite is spacious and very comfortable with wonderful views across the bay. I was concerned about getting around the resort due to the hilly nature and given our ages late 60/early 70 with all the related aches and pains, but it has not been a problem at all. The Concierge boys are wonderful ever ready to transport you wherever you want to go in the golf buggies, I cannot speak highly enough of these guys. I would also like to mention the housekeeping staff who did such a wonderful job in our Suite ever ready with a smile and so well groomed in their lovely uniforms a big Thankyou to you all. Mildly disappointed in the breakfast it targets the Asian guest - thank goodness for the egg station. Saving the negative for last and it is a big one - over the week we were here we spent $200.00 on shuttles/taxis/transfers this to us is totally unacceptable and would make us think again about returning- in hindsight a week was far too long here. I should mention we caught the shuttle into Phuket town on the Sunday only to find the shops shut - there was a market on somewhere as we were besieged by taxi drivers when we alighted the shuttle in the middle of nowhere- for heavens sake why did not the shuttle drop us off at the market''''
"Beautiful resort with very nice staff."
I stayed at this beautiful hotel and was really impressed with the room and the view from my room. The check in staff was very courteous and pleasant. I also had a chance to eat dinner in the Thai restaurant called EEST, trying the local fried rice, which was awesome. The waiters were also very friendly especially Gift and Ice. Both of them really gave good service with beautiful smile throughout my stay in that reataurant. Though the location is quite far from all the main attractions of Phuket, I would definitely come again to stay. Great job Westin Phuket.
