Excellent sejour dans ce sublime hotel.Comment of K. Persephone, France the 2017-01-25
This is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location with stunning views across the Douro from Vila Nova de Gaia towards Porto's old town and ribeira. Rooms are all large with river views, with prices increasing in line with room size. Food and wine are first rate and service generally excellent, though we did experience a bit of attempted penny-pinching on a cocktail voucher. Expect to pay accordingly.Comment of C. We stayed for 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. Rooms are spacious, staff is very friendly and service minded. Restaurant is fantastic and do not forget to book a tour of the wine cellar where you will get an overview of what Portugal can offer you in fine wines. The view from the room on the Douro river and the old city centre is breath taking!Comment of L. Filip, Belgium the 2015-11-10
"World class view from the terrace"
Whilst in Porto recently we walked down to the river, over the bridge, and up the (steep) hill to the Yeatman Hotel. It is an impressive grand hotel, of modern construction but of old world style. The hotel is full of lovely furniture and paintings with large , gracious internal spaces. The best part, however, is the terrace at the rear, where you can sit and have a coffee or glass of wine and drink in the world class view overlooking the Douro river below and the old city of Porto opposite. It rewards you well for the effort of finding this spectacular location.
On a much anticipated trip to Porto w/lovely daughter- she is new attorney in Chicago and I am in Southern California- she had time to plan a surprise early Mom"s day trip to Portugal. Porto, of us was perfect as we both love a good Port. She booked the Yeatman which is not in Porto but Gaga just across the river from Porto, so you have beautiful rooms with fantastic views of the river and the town. The Yeatman is located adjacent to Taylor tasting room - just a stroll thru the courtyard and you're in the tasting room for a tour and of course the best part the tastings! The room was large with expansive bath, which included a double shower as well as bath tub. There was a wonderful balcony with views of the river and town. Michelin star restaurant which was terrific for the first night as we had landed from Chicago and didn't feel up to much but we're so glad we went for dinner. Want to go to Porto proper then it's an easy 10 min stroll be suggest a cab back as it's up hill. Lovely buffet breakfast included with inside or outside seating with river views to start your day.
This is a beautiful property on the Douro River with spotless accommodations. The entire facility is impressively clean and well appointed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable as well. The service is near excellent but with a staff of very young employees, there are some deficiencies. What they lack in experience they make up for with enthusiasm. No one is perfect after all. I would not hesitate to return to enjoy more of the extensive wine list. The location is right next door to Taylor Fladgate, a 4 minute walk.
"Thursday evening wine dinner, what fun!"
This is not a review of the hotel accommodation although it is stunning location overlooking the Douro river. The wine dinners each Thursday have the 2 star Michelin chef, Ricardo Costa, match food to the wines being presented. Needless to say he does a terrific job. The wines this week were all white, different in age and flavour. The 4 course tasting menu is preceded by wine served in Dick's bar with beautiful hors d'oevres, this time including both cooked and marinated oysters. We met a very friendly couple from Chicago and thoroughly enjoyed our evening of good wine, food and company. These weekly events are really worth attending and we are back next week for another producers fine wine.
"Amazing hotel with a stunning view!"
Beautiful, big room with a terrace overlooking Porto. The hotel overall is amazing with an indoor and outdoor swimming pool with the most beautiful view that I have ever seen. Breakfast was great as well. Would love to go back.
