"Overnight in the city"
Intimate, boutique hotel with all the amenities. Great service and attention to guest preferences. Wonderful gluten free food. Great location - easy to walk to lots of places in King West. Really comfortable beds. Rooftop bar/lounge was a lot of fun - amazing view of the city.
"Shopping in Toronto with family"
Nice hotel in summertime because of the pool, but it was closed partly the last day because of party, Its lot of party going on there. Very nice people in reception. But not in the Diner restaurant. Miss a more fancy restaurant than Diner.
"Hotel or night club"
We stayed here... It looked nice. At night you have to fight to get back to your room. Both nights we were there my wife and I returned from dinner and were met with bouncers and velvet ropes in the lobby. We were repeatedly denied access to elevators to get back to our room so they could allow people to access the club on the rooftop... It was surreal. After spending money to stay at the hotel we were refused access to our room so clubbers could fill the elevators and get up to the rooftop patio. It was terrible. This is not a hotel, this a scuzzy club in disguise. If you want a classy hotel with a sweet rooftop bar, I would recommend turning away from Toronto and instead going to Chicago to stay at the Chicago Athletic Association, which is a classy hotel. The Thompson Toronto is very much lacking class. We checked out one day early and finished our trip at the Ritz Carleton. They let us up to our room any time we wanted! :-)
The hotel is great, people at the front desk were awesome, very clean room and comfortable bed! The only bad thing is, the roof top pool and terrace is small and people free m outside comes to enjoy it, so No more space left for us...,
"Great boutique hotel"
Perfect location with a fun, friendly vibe. Great rooftop patio bar. Thompson diner is a must for all greasy spoon lovers and late night cravings. Staff are very helpful and treat the guests amazingly well. Would highly recommend the Thompson.
