"Excellent Service and Rooms"
Staff and room was excellent. Exceeded my expectations. I previously visited the roof top lounge and lobby bar, however the experience was enhanced as we had the room reservation this time. Definitely recommend it.
"Would stay here again"
Great boutique hotel in a great location. Nice big rooms and I loved the bed linens and heated bathroom marble floor. The front desk and bell desk service was very friendly and accommodating, as was the concierge.
"Not worth it"
I was looking forward to my stay at the Thompson as I had heard it was a great boutique hotel. Instead, I was surprised to find my room clean, but in need of repair for paint chips, scratches and dents in the wall. It just looks worn. The hallways are very dark and dingy and the staff is rather cool. I felt like I was putting the front desk clerk out when I needed my card to be reactivated. There was a private party in the lobby on my second night and I had to wait for someone to even ask me if I needed assistance. It was so loud that it was difficult to hear and another guest checking in had to repeat his name three times to find his reservation! I have stayed in much nicer hotels in Toronto and would not recommend this to anyone. The pool/rooftop area is lovely with a gorgeous view, but that's about it. The meeting space is also small and dark and the public restrooms were not tidy and clean. The walls are also paper thin so it was hard to sleep with noise from hallways and neighbouring rooms.
I had the best time ever celebrating my birthday at the Thompson. I had a little bit of an issue with my room price prior to arriving, but Theo resolved the issue promptly. We stayed in the King Suite away from the elevators, and it was pretty quite apart from some street noise. But it's Toronto so that's a given. The room was clean, spacious, beautiful bathroom, and bed was very comfortable. Ordered room service for breakfast one morning and it came within 25mins. Soo delicious! Andrea was a great help during our stay, and helped with everything from arrival to making reservations. Can't wait to stay here again:)
"Always a great visit"
It is always a pleasure to visit the Thompson Hotel. Attentive, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and well put together, I appreciate the hard wood floors and tile bathrooms. A great place to stay when visiting Toronto.
