of TripAdvisor Travelers recommend this hotel
It might not be 4 star but it is very centrally located and an easy walk to many of the city sites. Rooms are good and many modernised. We were very happy with ours. It was very busy but the staff managed this well. We could pick a few minor faults but overall we were comfortable and well provided for.
this hotel which is used by gate 1 travel is in the downtown area. when you arrive in capetown you would prefer to stay at the harbor butif you cant, this hotel is a good choice. it is in walking distance of the jewish museum, the market in the square, long street. there is a dunkin donuts and kfc around the corner but they close at 6. the restaurant is excellent, had buffet breakfasts and dinners there, very reasonable for dinner. the downside is that you cant go out after dark by yourself and walk around, businesses and offices are closed and it is not safe but that is true of the whole city. taxies and uber are readily available.
"Nice Place to lay your head!"
The hotel is small and quaint, nice décor, nice people all around. The rooms are nice and cozy and clean. The hotel is quiet even though in busy area you feel safe walking during the day and is surrounded by Museums and restaurants. They even have a Conceirge who is very nice and informative about what you should do and where to eat.
The hotel is situated at the heart of the city. It provides 4-star luxury in a vibrant and cosmopolitan area that has great food culture, great fashion and picturesque. The customer service is of the upmost standard and creates and enduring benefit of repeat customers.
"Decent hotel used by GATE1 tours"
Stayed 4 nights but as part of GATE1 tour so can't comment on value. Other observations below: Room: Our room was in decent condition with updated fixtures though our sofa upholstery was a bit worn. There was an in room safe and small refrigerator and 2 plug points where US style plugs could be used without adapters. Our "double" bed was really 2 full beds put next to each other (not a queen or king), though the bed and pillows were comfortable. A few English channels were available on the small flat screen TV. Breakfast: Milk, basic cereals, dry fruits, muffins, pastries, egg & bread were some of the vegetarian options. One day they had pancakes and during regular hours you could order eggs made to your liking. Out of the three days they messed up my vegetarian omlette order on the 2nd day and also did not replenish the toasts in a timely manner. The person in charge apologized and said it was due to lot of staff being out sick. Location: The hotel is close to Company Gardens and Castle of Good Hope. VA waterfront is a bit farther away but still walkable. There is an interesting Indian style fast food place (Eastern Food Bazar) nearby and couple of other restaurants in walking distance. Wifi: Wifi worked ok but was a bit slow one night. Wish they enhanced the signal strength so it would work in the conference room area and just outside the hotel as well. Other Amenities: This hotel has couple meeting rooms and a basic restaurant/cafe. Overall decent place with friendly service.
