"The rate is very reasonable in the right heart of China's capital City"
Apart from its low rate, it is located in the most expensive area in Beijing. Below the hotel, there is a vast shopping centre where you can see almost all the world-famous glittering brands you can name. The centre is called Guomao Shopping Centre whose transactions rank the 2nd throughout China. For foreign tourists, there are hundreds restaurants there with different prices to meet the needs of different people while hygiene standard is the best.
"The worst in Luxury hotel"
This hotel will close soon, alrough my comment has little effect, it would give you some kind of reference. First of all, the location of the hotel is very good, lives in the center of Beijing near the China World Metro, surrounded by high-rise buildings, many kinds of high-level department stores and restaurants. Secondly, this hotel is very old, whether from the appearance or internal, you can fully feel the style of the 1970s. Facilities maintenance is also not good, curtains, bathroom, wallpaper, furniture in the room are more or less dirty, old, poor or have other issues. Thirdly, I don‘t know if it were for the closure reason, the staff’s service quality has decreased significantly, there were many episodes during my stay. Finally, although I was very dissatisfied on all aspects, I still have to praise the food in the Horizon Lounge , it is so consistent with the we Chinese taste, and this is the only point I can feel it is a Shangri-La's hotel. Summarized to say, it is not good but cheap.
"Nice hotel, well located"
Stayed at this hotel for three days this month. It's a nice hotel, modern, clean and well equipped. The staff is helpful and efficient. The rooms reasonably large and comfortable. The hotel is well located next to or a part of the World Trade Center complex and has direct access to a impressive mall. All other attractions in Beijing are reasonably close by. The Silk Market, which should not be missed is barely A twenty minute walk away. The only hiccup is the breakfast. Though much the usual it can be made a bit more varied. One final tip. The exchange rates at this hotel are far superior to what you would get at the airport.
"A second home"
The front desk staff and bell desk and concierge have remained the same for several years and so they all know me when I come, I feel truly welcome and like I am coming home. They are attentive, helpful and always happy to provide any assistance. They are absolute stars.
I was alone but within a tour organised by a Maltese company. I was told it was a very good hotel, but tor the ranking this hotel had, it was a little tired. I actually expected more, as the furnishings were rather old and need refurbishing and freshening up more, and soon. Not very impressed.
