"What a beautiful surprise "
This is a full fledged modern resort. Sitting on a spacious beautifully landscaped property on the edge of the Babin Kuk peninsula. We had a loft typed room on the fifth floor with a balcony and a commanding views of the sea and nearby islands. Three restaurants with excellent food - tried them all. Big plus - the bus stop to the old city is outside the door and takes about 10-15 min to get there. We were there for three nights and I wished we could stay there longer. Loved it!
"Fantastic, would give 6 out of 5!"
Booked this hotel through a Jet2 holiday. Absolutely, 100% would come back here, probably one of the nicest hotels i've stayed at. It's a very big, modern hotel, designed for conferences but I like that kind of hotel. The staff were superb, from reception to breakfast staff to housekeeping - everyone said hello and were extremely helpful. Check in and check out was efficient and easy. We were on the top (5th floor) and there is a fast lift to get you there, we actually didn't book a sea view room but got a sea view anyway. Having a balcony was lovely to sit out in the sun in the afternoon between pool time and going for dinner. The room was fantastic. Huge bed! Lovely bathroom with a good shower, plenty of plugs, a tv with some english speaking channels, an easy to use safe, lost of cupboard space, a kettle and a little mini-bar fridge. Being at the end of the corridor worked out brilliantly for us in terms of housekeeping as by the time we would head to breakfast (9am) the room would've been cleaned by the time we got back. The breakfast buffet which we had included was outstanding. Served between 7 and 10 you could wander around the food stations and pick from really really lovely choices. Hot food, bread, pastries, cold meats and cheese, cereals, yoghurt and fruit, vegan and gluten free options and even a ham on the bone! The only one fault that I could come up with for the entire stay was that the fruit juice at breakfast wasn't great, it was concentrate from a dispenser, it would've been lovely to have fresh orange. The pools were lovely! You could get a beach towel from the spa desk in exchange for your towel card, there were loungers poolside (indoor) and the water was lovely and warm. Outside there were plenty of loungers and an infinity looking pool but the water was a bit chilly (May) ok for a few lengths but it took courage to get in! There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, the number 6 takes you right to the old city in about 15mins and comes on the hour every 15 mins. It costs 15kuna on the bus for a single, try to have right change. There is a kiosk at the stop in the old town where you can buy a day ticket if you have larger notes and you can also buy a 1 day Dubrovnik card from the hotel reception for 170kuna which gets you entry to multiple museums (many closed on Monday however) including city walls (150kuna) so worth it to include a return bus trip. There is a small complex of restaurants and shops a couple of minutes from the hotel, (turn right on the path down to the beach). Good choices for dinner, drinks and buying bottles of water. The path which leads to the sister hotel, Valamar President either leads off the the right for a couple of lovely beaches (Coral and Copacabana) or off to the left for an easy 10-15 min coastal walk into Lapad, a little town with a decent size supermarket(Tommy) and plenty of options for eating a drinking. One thing that really impressed us that as it was my boyfriends birthday during our stay, we received a bottle of red wine and a birthday card which was such a lovely touch. Loved staying here, can't wait to come back.
"Fantastic stay at this hotel."
My parents were booked in here for 4 days. Clean spacious room with a view of Dubrovnik Bridge (Franjo Tuđman Bridge). Tea and Coffee facilities (powdered milk only provided). Fridge and safe in room. There is a little shopping mall about 5 mins walk from Hotel with mini market to get basics such as milk etc. There are small souvenir shops there also and couple of restaurants. The breakfast area in the hotel is fabulous, big clean and spacious with a huge array of choices to suit all tastes. There is a bar/restaurant area beside the terraced area, good food, but service can be a bit slow. Free wifi throughout the hotel was so great, making communicating home a lot cheaper! 10 min walk to Copacabana beach. 2 min walk to bus stop to take the No. 6 to Old Town for 15 Kuna. Great location, very relaxed. Taxi from here to Airport 300 kuna (€40.00)
Been to the hotel before & upon returning haven't been disappointed. The staff are friendly, the hotel is spotless, the facilities are extensive, and the location is lovely. Haven't got a bad word to say about it & if I come back to Dubrovnik it would be the first place I'd look to book.
Lovely setting looking West, (great sunset views from the restaurant and the balcony of our room!) across the bay with the mountains sloping down to the sea. Balcony room with sea view was worth the extra money if you are staying for a while. Hard to find fault with the Hotel. Went half board. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style with a good range of freshly cooked choices which were topped up regularly. Two pools, one indoor and one outdoor, both clean and well maintained but I would expect them to be busier in high season although a lot of people used the Hotel as a base for Dubrovnik so it was fairly quiet during the day. Good range of treatments in the Spa. My wife and I both had a massage which were good value. English is widely spoken by the majority of the staff who really couldn't do enough for us. Dubrovnik old town is around 20 minutes away by cab although buses are cheap and regular. A couple of small but pleasant beaches are a short walk away. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.
