Vila Gale Collection Palácio dos Arcos, featuring a poetic style and decor, set in a refurbished fifteenth-century palace, offers a total of 76 rooms that are in perfect harmony with their environment. The Inevitável restaurant, Spa Satsanga, outdoor pool, surrounding gardens and the palace's wine cellar - now repurposed as a meeting room - make the hotel a revitalising force in Paço de Arcos's historical heart.
Vila Gale Collection Palácio dos Arcos is ideally situated on the Tagus River along the Lisbon coastline, a mere 30-minute drive from central Lisbon. With the train station just 15 minutes away, guests can easily pop in to see the old centre of Lisbon or Cascais.
"Rooms and view both gorgeous"
The rooms were extremely upscale. Beds very comfortable. View of the water was amazing. The grounds were well maintained. Location is close to a train station but not too close where you hear the train. However, food in restaurant was not very good. Stay here but don't eat dinner here.
"Fantastic Lisbon hotel for a slightly longer Lisbon stay"
Very difficult to fault this place. Stayed in May 2017 for 5 nights in the UK school holidays. Hotel has two parts - an old traditional part, and a newer modern building with most of the bedrooms. Overlooks the sea, with a small beach a short distance away. Travelled with two children and the family room was perfect, and would recommend the ground floor with sliding doors to access the pool. Luxurious and huge rooms and luxurious cushioned sunbeds around the pool. Beds super comfortable. Ticks all the right boxes in terms of the room. The breakfast setting beautiful - looking out onto the formal gardens that were in full bloom. And the selection in the breakfast buffet was fantastic, with additional options such as pancakes that you could also request. Location was perfect for a longer stay just outside of the city. Walk behind the hotel for a few minutes and you are at the train station - to Lisbon city in one direction and Casias in the other. Both 15 minutes away and tickets a few euros, with 24 hour ticket options for multiple trips. A wonderful stay and would definitely return.
Very nice place! Great combination between old and new. I had a room in the old building, beautul and great. Very kind employees, breakfast and dinner is really good. Enjoyed it and really recommend it to others!
"Haven of tranquility on the outskirts of Lisbon"
This is a superb hotel: a beautiful old house, perfectly restored, includes the Reception, bar and dining room with delightful terrace overlooking the garden. Behind this is an extensive newly built annex containing the majority of the guest rooms. These are large, impeccably furnished and with wonderful views across the garden towards the ocean. I only stayed for two nights on a business trip but would love to go back with my wife for a holiday.
Mesmerizing hotel. The service is very attentively and every wish is fulfilled within minutes. The rooms are spacious with nice interior design. The mix of the old building and the newer ones creates a special and cozy atmosphere. Definitley a place we can recommend. As well it is great to do trips to Lisbon :-)
