Nestled in the heart of Pelourinho, the historic quarter of the UNESCO World Heritage listed city, Villa Bahia offers a unique holiday experience with exclusive gastronomy.
Showcasing authentic Portuguese-era details, the two adjoining 17th- and 18th-century colonial homes boast two luscious garden courtyards, a refreshing plunge pool and a panoramic terrace to create a charming city base. Each of the beautiful rooms at Villa Bahia has been carefully renovated to preserve its original spirit and overlooks the district's colourful façades.
Located in Pelourinho, Villa Bahia is just a short walk away from the Jorge Amado Museum, Elevador Lacerda and Praca da Sé.
"gorgeous place to land in Bresil"

"Not just an excellent hotel, a great restaurant as well !"
I recently spent two nights in this charming boutique hotel. What used to be large townhouse was transformed with taste into a small and delicate hotel. Furnitures are antiques, classic dark Brazilian wooden floor and tiles are everywhere. The decoration is reminiscent of a colonial past. This fits well with the old town neighborhood, Pelourinho, Unesco protected since the 80's. Each room bears a geographical name. My large room was called "Moçambique" and had two very large windows opening on the place in front of the hotel. The staff, dressed in classical Bahian clothes is well trained and speaks many languages. Besides the excellent breakfasts, I had twice the opportunity to eat at the restaurant, once in one of the internal patios, the other time on the terrasse in front of the hotel. The restaurant is really at the level of the hotel. Excellent choice of food and drinks. The menu includes innovative plates but also traditional dishes from Bahia like the Moqueca de Camaroes, that I had for lunch. Well the food quality and presentation shouldn't be a surprise as the chef was trained by Alain Ducasse. If you can't stay at this very nice hotel, at least try the restaurant it is worth a stop. I do believe that there are not many restaurants reaching this level in the surroundings and may be in Salvador. Enjoy!
Recently stayed at this property based on reviews and our schedule in Salvador (mainly Pelo). From arriving to departing the hotel I must say that we were exposed to one of the greatest customer service and very warm vibes. The property itself is in the heart of Pelo, room (Goa) was stunning, decor, bed and amenities were awesome. The staff spoke english and even the ones that did not made an effort to try and get whatever their guests asked for. Check with the front desk about tours as they will refer you to an agency that provides the best tour guide (ask for Vanderleigh Duarte). I will moat definitely stay here again. *elevator was broken on the first night of our stay but now worries, the staff will gladly take your luggage(s) to your room.
This is a beautiful hotel wth extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing with tropical fruits, breads, coffee, tea, jams and so many other items. We had dinner in the restaurant on our last night - it was delicious. The location is great - walking distance to many sights. Highly recommend this hotel.
Second stay in Salvador within a two week period. Booked Villa Bahia on the recommendation of a local guide. The staff was superb, the recommending an excellent restaurant for dinner and taking care to insure that as a single traveler I did not accidentally wander into areas which they consider unsafe. The breakfast is excellent - a full spread brought to your table, rather than the simple continental buffet. As many others have commented the location is central to all the historical sites.
